perry's halftime show. brahm resnik, 12 news. >> interesting comparison. you can watch the first presidential debate on monday only on 12 news, you'll see "nbc nightly news" lester holt moderating it live, starting at 6:00 p.m. join us for an all-new episode of the voice, and then 12 news at 9 and 10. shocking surveillance photos show a man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting an unconscious woman in old scott -- old town scottsdale. this happened last saturday and 12 news' dee dee gatton is live at the scene with what investigators say happened. dd? >> reporter: good evening. we have two big scenes here, the first at the bonnell blonde just a walk away where the victim is seen leaving on surveillance video. the second scene right here, at this parking garage behind me. this is where police say the victim was sexually assaulted

i want to show you video released today, you can actually see the suspect 28- year-old rodolfo ramirez picking up a woman and carrying over his shoulder. after that police allege he assaulted her in the parking garage and then drove the victim to his home where he is accused of sexually assaulting her, two more times. >> obviously very frightened. she played it cool and didn't want to antagonize or alert the suec wrong. so she was able to get the suspect to drop her off at an intersection in tempe. >> reporter: in court documents the suspect is described as a danger to society. he was arrested this week and is now facing multiple charges including kidnapping and sexual assault and abuse. we live in scottsdale, dee dee gatton, 12 news. >> such a disturbing story. thank you. new information in the

during a traffic stop. 12 news' charly edsitty is here with what she has learned from the authorities. >> reporter: we learned the teenager at the center of this incident will most likely not face any charges. that's according to a phoenix police spokesperson. the investigation into the september 13 incident is still got -- we have learned there is no body camera footage of what happened. because none of the three officers activated their equipment. the teen legend richard pina, jason mcfadden and michael carnicle found marijuana inside the car. the team claims the officers gave him an ultimatum to be the drugs or go to jail. after consuming about a gram of pot, the officers gave the teen several traffic tickets and let him go. all three officers have resigned. a fourth officer jeff farrior was also disciplined and demoted from the tenant to sergeant. phoenix police chief joe yahner says two of the men are being investigated as suspects in the criminal investigation.

right now let's take a look at your hot headlines this afternoon. valley high school teacher now in police custody accused of having a sexual relationship with a female student. police arrested alan johnson yesterday. investigators say the alleged relationship happened in 2011. johnson was a teacher at cactus high school. the girl was just 17 years old. johnson is now a teacher at paradise valley high school.

new information about the plane that crashed into this home in gilbert. ntsb now reports one of the skydivers heard a loud noise and noticed damage to the left wing before it caught fire. fortunately no one was seriously hurt. the home is a total loss. federal judge is refusing to block a state law that prevents get out the vote groups from collecting early ballots. the judge rejected democratic groups requests for an injunction to keep the law from taking effect. he said they failed to show the law voters. still ahead, presenting future forest fires how students right here in arizona are learning to keep our wildlife areas safer. we have the answer to today's social sound off. where is the most scenic golf course in arizona? sunday only on 12 news at 10:00, shocked the world by winning gold at the beijing

fire season is winding down but wildfire experts are continuing their efforts to make forests around arizona safer. students at northern arizona university are getting a chance to make a difference as well. it's true. we learned more about this with 12 news' trisha hendricks who shows us how getting out of the

the forest. >> reporter: this is not your typical classroom. deep in the ponderosa pines, surrounding flagstaff are these guys, students in the nau forestry program. today they are on a pretty routine mission. >> they go out and assess an ecosystem and use that information in the assessment to describe the current conditions in the forest which they then use to develop a management plan to advise how the forest should be managed in the future. >> reporter: all the students are in their senior year and have been working toward their capstone for years. >> every class builds on everything. every class i've taken since freshman year was worth it. not like you are taking a prerequisite. just to take it. >> reporter: their mission is to map out a number of acres to better understand the wildlife growth and learn about how certain fuels place -- play certain roles. >> also gives us information about the likelihood of a fire that starts in the forest, moving into the canopy and creating a wildfire. >> reporter: the data

the phoenix suns have been busy this week with the organization's annual week of service. today they supported uso arizona by building 600 travel comfort kits for arizona servicemembers. it's an effort especially meaningful to the suns president who is a veteran
