news at 9 and 10. turning now to the weather, we finally made it, today is the last day of monsoon 2016. taking you live look right now at one of our webcams here over the downtown phoenix area. as you can see it is still kind of looks like the monsoon is trying to hang on. what can we expect for the rest of this evening? let's take a look at the satellite radar. although we are not seeing any showers here in the that is developing just around the chandler area. hitting i-10 right now that shower seems to be pushing its way to the east. another one out towards the queen creek area around st. anne. other than that there are a few showers down south of buckeye north of gila bend. so just kind of in a nutshell we'll be looking for an isolated stray shower or storm throughout the evening and then we'll be clearing things out as we head through the overnight hours. this weekend is setting up to

so normal this time of year no storm chances, plenty of sunshine and take a look at that, big dip in temperatures down to the mid-80s as we kick off next week. coming up a look at some of the monsoon rainfall totals from across the state. those 80s are going to feel so much cooler. thank you, caribe. switching gears, domestic violence is an issue that impacts as many as one in four women and one in seven men in our community. october is domestic violence awareness month. typically we think of physical abuse but today, maricopa county leaders raise the flag about a new breed of attacks. in a revealing demonstration, officers from the phoenix pd family investigations unit pointed out a number of ways that abusers are physically able to track, hack and stock victims. from a child's teddy bear -- >> cameras can be placed in the mouth. >> reporter: to list mania's electronic items. >> give to somebody and they

phones. >> one party can control the others phone and they can track you. with this phone i can track anybody. >> reporter: what if it is the user is hiding deep in the digital shadows? cyberstalking is considered a form of domestic violence. >> social media is the new frontier of violence. and it is often invisible. >> reporter: this woman, who we'll call rhiannon, has been tortured at the hand of an unknown online serial stocker. >> he has created literally thousands which was to harass me. >> reporter: somehow she endured the emotional chaos that this internet stocker has created. but at the expense of her career. >> and many close friends. so until law enforcement can corner this guy, rhiannon is reaching out to other cyberstalking victims. >> they are not alone in this. there is help out there for them. there is a scarcity of resources. but the more people who come out and make their story known, the more it will get addressed on a legislative and law

committed. >> new laws that include cyberstalking went into effect the summer to offer greater protection for domestic violence victims. there is help out there in our community. you can find more information on it at 12news.com. residents of the small northern town of sanders are now calling on the epa to help investigate high levels of uranium in their drinking water. last spring 12 news told you about the contamination problem. it is so bad that schools ha for the past year. the school district had hoped the water problem would have been resolved by now but that's not the case. researchers say uranium mines spilled from the '70s is to blame. west phoenix powerplant is doing some end of monsoon cleaning this weekend. tomorrow morning two steam stacks and the water tower that have been out of service for 15 years now are coming down. >> that is a big cleaning job. 12 news' nico santos has a final look at the valley landmarks.

looking a little like monsoon right now. >> it does. looking like that all week long. take a look as the sun sets here in arizona. it's a pretty nice shot there. you can see clouds making for a nice colorful sunset. although today is the last day of the monsoon, you may still actually see a little bit of storm action across our state. so we are officially finished. the season did start on june 15. finishing today. here is how we made out. 49 so we are below the average total of 2.71. and it turns out that this year's monsoon is the 55th wettest in phoenix history. now, although we were below normal there were some cities across arizona that fared pretty well when it came to monsoon rain. in particular flagstaff. 10.75 inches there. that was above normal. tucson also above normal at

in 2.44 inches for flagstaff above the average, and over an inch above normal there in tucson. in phoenix of course i mentioned we were below normal there. also out towards yuma, below average with rainfall by about 0.3 of an inch. a little bit of green on there, especially out towards the queen creek area. a shower is pushing up to the east. we'll be clearing out pretty soon in that area and then down south of buckeye along highwa west. nothing really major happening but we'll be watching out for a stray shower or storm to move through for the early evening hours. southeastern arizona we had quite a bit of activity for graham and cochise county that has moved into new mexico. up around flagstaff very cloudy start. recently had some storms but they are dying out as well. here's a look at what we can expect for the weekend. dry conditions, westerly flow, we may see a few spotty showers
