hurricane matthew is our top story this morning. it is about to create a travel nightmare. airlines across the country have already canceled nearly 2000 flights. it will be a rough 48 hours for a lot of people try to get on a plane. brian west is tracking the developments from sky harbor airport. >> reporter: that number has moved up to 2500 flights that have been canceled due to hurricane matthew. that is 1500 flights canceled today, 1100 flights that could be canceled tomorrow. that is according to flight aware.com. locally we have been notified that 11 flights with american airlines, to and from the airport have been canceled. the most impacted airports are miami international and fort lauderdale international airport which plans to shut

other hurricanes because it is not going to actually make landfall but will be right next to the land and on the water. it will continue to strengthen and draw more energy because that is where they get the fuel from, the warm waters in the atlantic. it is now moving north, but the bands are going to continue to pound parts of the coast of miami all the way up to west palm beach florida. expected to move towards the north and northwest 12 miles per hour. 125 mile-per-hour winds. there's also a chance for tornadoes as well. a lot of moisture to work with and humidity. it is going to move up the court -- coast and strengthen to a category four. all that land is going to move up towards charleston and expected to move back out by
