what's the latest on the ground there? >> reporter: good morning. the situation in kirkuk right now is quite fluid. what we do know is about 20 isis militants flooded into the city. they managed to take over several security positions, mostly police stations and former police stations and they attacked a construction site for a power plant that was being built by iranian construction workers. why attack a construction site? isis does consider iran to be one of their prima considered the center of shiite influence in the region. right now, that situation is still unfolding. the iraqi special forces specially trained by the u.s. have gone into kirkuk and are now trying to arrest the situation and take them down. one building is still occupied by the isis militants carrying small arms, suicide vests and grenades. as you know, this is very typical isis behave. . they're trying to create a
