seahawks. >> arizona and the seahawks both missed field goals. >> so how in the world did this happen? we have team coverage on the missed kicks. >> let's start with kevin kennedy live out of greenway high school. getting the low down on the high pressure of having to hit a game-winning field goal. kev? >> reporter: yeah guys. the nfl average per making that kick is is about 95%. so misses however they hadn't happened in the three-year career up until tonight he was a perfect 20-20 on kicks inside 30 yards. however we all know what took place last night the miss in overtime that would have won the game for the cardinals. of course today every single person it seems like is piling on including some saying he should be cut. but as i found out today, boy that automatic chip shot field

i tried ten kicks today and as you can see you're probably laughing i wasn't that good. in fact i made one out of ten. that's it one and it hit the cross bar and then bounced through. i then got coaching tips from the coach out here. they could have told me what to do in regards to kicking the field goal. here is what he had to say about kicking and what he would have done last night in that 3rd down play. >> i would have just went for it. [ laughter ] i thrown one more time. >> it's almost like a golf swing? >> yes. keep an eye on the ball. it's all form because all those guys have some strong legs, it's all form. >> don't look up. keep your head down and drive through the ball. that's all i've got. >> all right that is all he's got. now let's see if what i got, i guess. here it is 24 yards we'll set it up. i'll give it my best shot.

6:07 pm
field goal? >> mark, in hind sight it's easy to say i would have ran another play on 3rd down. but in reality i reality -- but in reality i really didn't have a problem with making the kick. you don't want to risk the chance of a fumble. kick it and walk away with the win. but the delay of game penalty pushing back five yards a kick that should have been made from 19 yards long to one that is 24 yards long. yeah the extra closer to the goal post would have allowed the kick to barely squeeze through the left upright instead of hitting it. thus having the game-winning kick. any way you slice it, 19 yards, 24 yards, it's a kick that he has to make a kick from that distance, which is considered automatic or chip shot especially from a professional. >> yeah. well other than the field goal, what was the key moment you think could have won the game for the cardinals? >> i've got this one no doubt about it. this could have won the game

6:09 pm
how? they were lucky to walk away with the win. do you see the difference in the locker room talk? make no mistake about it. this feels like a cardinals loss and a seahawks win. >> man. i've been down all day about it. >> yeah, but vanessa still can't get over it. >> it really was ugly. >> i felt bad for some of the stuff people were yelling as he walked off the field last night. all right still to come on 12news at 6:00. horses are being sold that one animal group is trying to step in to help. plus, you might be surprised on who is behind the big donation to keep maybe legal right here in -- donation to keep marijuana legal right here in arizona. a chance for rain will remain in the forecast. for how long? all those details are coming
