detectives. he was arrested at his phoenix home. the olympic swimmer superstar michael phelps actually got married before the rio games. 12 news confirming phelps and his then fiance nicole were married back on june 13th in paradise valley. phelps will serve as volunteer swim coach at asu. and traffic is finally moving again along the west of 19th avenue as a driver slam entered a fire hydrant causing this flooded mess this morning. the crews rk hydrant most of the day and the area fully reopens to traffic late this afternoon. and this search is on in buckeye for thieves who targeted a pumpkin farm near jack rabbit and broadway geyser night. they were -- overnight. they were able to get rid of pumpkins of all sizes. the pumpkins were worth about $1,000. last night we brought you one man's story about a sky

then heard from dozens and dozens more of you complaining about the same problem. one man actually captured what appears to be a broken water meter on his property yet he was still forced to pay a bill of more than $700. we have live team coverage on these complaints beginning with team 12. she is live in buckeye to get some answers. charlie, what are you learning this afternoon? >> reporter: well, vanessa, not a lot. for the second day in asking to speak with the director of water resources, and we westerly told he was in meetings and couldn't come out to speak to us or a resident upset over his -- for a resident upset over his water bill. outrage and frustration continues. >> crickets. how do you bill somebody? >> we had to make a decision this month whether to pay the water bill or buy food for the family.

proof that his water meter isn't working. >> when we pulled the top off the meter, the digital meter, it was blank. the water is running inside, outside, not reading. i would like to know how i can be clarked upwards of almost $1,000 when there's no numbers ton meter at all. >> yet this month's bill shows over 49, 000 gallons of water usage totaling over $600 and combined with sewage and taxes, that comes out to of $757. >> and trying to find leaks and find what the problem is. the gentlemen told me pretty much in simple term nays the equivalent of the water they claimed used would be like dumping my pool three times and refilling it. you would have noticed that type of water usage. >> another buckeye resident says her last bill of $350 is for 22,000 gallons of water she doesn't believe she used.

the average. one cluster of several homes with high bills and a lot of anger at the city's response telling them homeowners must have water leaks somewhere. one viewer got the water director on tape dissing social media posts. dozens of buckeye residents told us their stories via facebook and e-mail asking for our help. and buckeye is not doing anymore than they have to do. she was charged almost $ 4 6,000 gallons used in a single month, enough to fill two large swimming pools. and we have actually looked at selling our house because of how expensive the water is. i feel helpless. and from alan hubbard. we were you netting a notice to disconnect letter because the previous months had not been paid. this is not acceptable, especially because there is no answer by them or accountability. one viewer tried to get an answer.

dave nigh answering his questions. >> like i say, nobody had an issue. i'm not going to lie to you. i don't know. but i will tell you that a lot of the social media and things, people that are out there, let's just say that people are very selective about what they put and what they don't put. >> reporter: we also tried to find patterns by mapping the homes of more than a dozen residents socked by high water bills. there was a cluster between miller and by a private water company that buckeye bought. i did speak with a water expert who asked not to be named. he said several valley cities like chandler, gilbert and scottsdale have water efficiency reviews if a leak is suspected at a home no one wants to waste water in a desert, but it does appear buckeye does it for its

it feels get, but it still feels pretty nice. it is 77 in sedona. the grand canyon at 64. so tomorrow is going to be another day where we're likely going to tie a record. the high temperatures ranging 93 to 98. the record for tomorrow is 98. and we're also expecting to see some high clouds moving in to the area. so right now high pressure is dominating those temperatures. as you can see, we do have some clouds that will be moving as that high pressure shift as little to the east there, we will see the clouds moving up, however, as you can see that rain there on future cast, it is moving rite up and over arizona. we're not expecting to see any rainfall with those clouds. 68 tonight in casa grandee. 43 tonight in flagstaff. 71 is your high temperature. 76 another the grand canyon. 80 in mess cot and very warm temperatures for the desert.
