nbcnews.com. isis leader al baghdadi emerges with a defiant statement. he called on supporters to spread attacks to other countries while expressing confidence that isis will win the battle for mosul. nbc news has not independently verified the authenticity or the date of the audio statement. matt bradley joins us live from erbil, northern iraq. good to have you with us. what does the timing of the at >> thanks. other than saying al baghdadi the leader of isis is still alive, it indicates he's trying to rally support among his troops in mosul, which is a city about an hour west of where i am now here in erbil. he's trying to get them to stay the line, to put up a really strong defense against overwhelming pressure from the iraqi military and from the u.s. coalition, which is bombing from above. now, he's basically said the only thing he really can say,
