we're crash free. >> that is good news. gosh, that really did look like snow there. took me back to my midwest days. after being closed for seven months on a project that cost more than $40 million, the bell road bridge is on track to open. brandon hamilton is live with more on that this morning. >> reporter: good morning. this is exciting for people in surprise or anyone that drives through the area. the bell road grand avenue intersection can be a nightmare at times, and that is the new its glory. construction crews are doing the final bits of construction right now. after seven months of being closed, the bell road overpass is to open next week. tuesday, november 22nd. such a sigh of relief for everybody that drives through the area. we talked with doug ninsel at adot and he explained why this would help so much. actually, we talked to doug and he told bus that intersection

have all of the cars there. sitting and waiting for the trains are a complete pain and that overpass will alleviate that. you can drive above the grand avenue intersection and avoid all of that. november 22nd, that is when that overpass opens. construction won't be complete yet. they will have to complete the ramps to connect bell road to grand avenue and they will have to complete the eastbound side of grand avenue. right now, traffic is sharing the lanes on the westbound side and going both eastbound and but in time for the ho will day season. it will open next week on the 22nd and back to you. >> thank you for sharing the good news. and new this morning, video that many say is quite disturbing. and an arizona police officer is being investigated for punching a woman in the face and the whole thing caught on camera and happened -- happened while she was being arrested. and brian west has the latest on this. >> reporter: flagstaff is

after the video surveyed of an officer punching a woman in the face and we told they had a warrant for her arrest, showed up at the house and that is where this went down. you're seeing cell phone video of this captured. the flagstaff police officer punching the woman in the face during the arrest. the arizona republic is saying they contacted the the boyfriend of the woman in the video and that the two had received an eviction notice. they identified the officer as ov came to watch the couple leave and lock up the house, that is when the punch happened. we got a release from flagstaff police and the agency is very concerned by what is depicted in the video and that the officer seen punching the woman is on administrative leave. brian west, 12 today. >> and that is incredible video there and thank you so much. and this morning, we want to highlight a program that can have a huge impact on families across the state called save

picadillo. ?[ music ]? now, granted, in this casing, yes, we're making it cuban style. my family is from colombia in sowma and i'm from miami. i was born there and i grew up there for a large part of my life. for me, picadillo is just that. delicious food that meanings family, friends -- means family, friends, good times and celebration and that is comfort food. it's not hard to make but big on taste. hewe we're going to use today and we start off with your meat. cuban picadillo is made with brown beef. this particular recipe, i like to substitute the beef for ground turkey, chopped garlic. one yellow onion, and big spanish style olives stuffed with pimento. ten cherry tomatoes cut in half. extra virgin olive oil, dry white cooking wine, tomato paste, not a lot and one thing

very seasoned, ground cumin and this is the magical ingredient that will give the cuban picad uh-huh lo its distinctive taste. there are two mandatory things to go with it. number one, your rice. i use brown rice. this is where i am going to let you in on a secret. i use delicious canned beans and they have good stuff. make sure they're remember the chopped onion? garlic. >> and you will let that brown for four minutes. typically, i use a bound of the ground turkey and put that into the pan. we'll let that simmer for about a minute. this is our dry white cooking wine here's 1/3. bam! we'll put the rest of the ingredients as soon as the

chopped olives, cherry tomatoes cut in half. tomato paste supposed to be about 1/3. cuban picadillo has seasonings. red cayenne pepper, fresh oregano, ground cumin, salt and pepper. once you add your spices, you let that cook for about a minute or two on low heat. the way you normally plate this, you put a nice bed of the rice and the top and you can have it served with green plant ans. if you can't find them, you can make them sweet or fried, you can also serve plant an chips and it's just as delicious. supereasy to make. full on the flavor and definitely reminds me of home. thank you so much for coming in. we're happy to share this delicious home-cooked meal with all of you. >> looks good. we want to get your holiday recipe favorites.

a judge found officer yanez had no good reason to use deadly force against castile. the shooting was live streamed by his girlfriend sparked days of protest across the nation. a florida baby is safe thanks to his brothers's quick thinking here. the surveillance video captured the frantic moment when an 11- month-old rolls off of his changing table own to -- only to be saved in the nick of time by his 9-year-old brother. nice save. the boy's mom st a moment and is incredibly embarrassed and very, very thankful. get a load of this. crews have filled a massive sinkhole in japan that nearly toppled several big buildings. we first showed you the massive hole last week when trucks were beginning to fill the hole. it took about 2,000 truckloads but in only a week, that looks as good as new. you would never guess. anxious drivers took the first trips across the pavement yesterday and time will tell, though, if it holds. >> i hope so.
