what i'm going to be making is a sweet potato pie. it comes from my late grandmother. edith devine. i know that a lot of you are familiar with pumpkin pie. in the south, it is all about sweet potato pie. it is easy. i know this because if i do it, it is really easy. these are the ingredients that you will need. you will need for medium-sized sweet potatoes. granulated sugar, some s crust. this is vanilla, evaporated milk. to exit room temperature, and a stick of butter. the first thing that we would do is preheat the oven. this is so that we can warm up our pie crust before we put the mixture in. we will set it to 325. it is now time to start making our pie filling. he will take your sweet potato and tell them. pretty simple. we will peel like so. >> is that how you do it? i

you are doing a good job. and then after you peel your damn, you will cut it into small sections like this. you will take them and put them in a pot and boil them. this will start to make that pie filling. able take may be about 40 minutes for them to be boiled. you want to make sure that they are fork tender. after you are done boiling your potatoes, now we're ready to start mixing. let's put this thing on high. potato pie is a creamy, smooth texture. we will remove the tigers as -- the fibers as we are mixing. two or three times, take the plates off, and rinse them in the sink. put them back on and continue mixing. now, it is time to add in the sweet stuff. first, we will start with nutmeg. you will need a teaspoon of nutmeg. a half a teaspoon of cinnamon. a fourth teaspoon of salt.

>> that is a lot. >> that is a lot. nice and sweet. we are going to take some better. you need a stick of butter. we need to eggs, room temperature. but in the evaporated milk, a tablespoon of vanilla. you want to mix all of this in. it looks like our pie crust is warmed up. it is been in there for about five minutes. it is now time to put the pie filling io we're just going to take a little condensed milk and brush the crust with it a little bit. there goes our pie. we will crank up the oven to 350 , and we will let it bake for about an hour. anywhere from 40 12:55 hour. this smells delicious, doesn't it? -- from 40 minutes to go in our.
