joe, you have a verify report on trump's claims? >> that's right. we should tell you that president-elect donald trump sent a flurry of tweets yesterday attacking hillary clinton for supporting recounts in those three states. while doing so trump suggested widespread voter fraud actually took place. the claims have no evidence behind them. yesterday the president elect tweeting there was se hampshire and california. voting officials in the states saying it was not the case. donald trump later tweeted -- i won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally. a claim no credible election officials or politician has supported. >> i think it's comical. >> reporter: for voters like erin and jaime the tweets are not surprising. >> it bothers me some of his tweets that he would say that. absolutely. >> reporter: one possible source of trump's claim -- a web site called info wars.

conspiracy theories such as the claim that the massacre at sandy hook elementary school was faked by the anti-gun movement. shortly after this election it falsely claimed millions voted illegally. is it concerning to you that the president-elect tweets out information like this that is false? >> yes. i mean it's checks and ba it's more sort of antics from him that are the reasons people didn't like him. >> andy voted for trump and says he doesn't take claims like these too seriously, but what about a month from now when trump is president? tweeting false claims about something bigger? >> i suppose we can worry when and if the time comes. he may be more restrained and have better judgment when he takes office. let's hope so. >> reporter: california secretary of state tweeted

>> reporter: the city of buckeye has come under fire recently as dozens of customers explained about spikes connected to their water usage. some customers paying $300 to $400 more than previous months. tonight the city could be giving customers some good news. the water resources department is proposing a water rate decrease which means depending on how much water you use your bill will at worse stay the same but could drop as much as . received a sneak peek of the presentation during a workshop this afternoon. 12 news the only station in the meeting as the council learned what they will be voting on later. we also spoke with one customer who plans on moving if something isn't done. >> i am going to leave this city. i can't afford to live here anymore. not with bills that can continue like that. >> reporter: the council will not be discussing anything related to customer bill

12 news will be here for the meeting. we'll bring you the latest at 10:00. developing now -- an arizona woman may lose vision in her right eye after she claims she was intentionally shot in the face by a tear gas canister while protesting the dakota access pipeline in north dakota. her injuries happening a week ago during a confrontation between protesters and law enforcement. charl t today and what is her prognosis? >> reporter: right now it's unclear, vanessa dunden says her eye is still swollen shut. and doctors haven't had a good look at the extent of injuries. the bloody and bruised face of the 32-year-old spread across social media. >> they got my eye, i kept saying. the emt put me in the van. >> reporter: her photo was one of several graphic images

ago. in the hours after another bout of violence between law enforcement and pipeline protesters who claim they were peaceful. about 200 people were hurt that night including 21-year-old sofia wollansky whose arm was seriously injured. >> i am hanging in there. i am in a lot of pain not being able to get narcotics now. with no id. >> reporter: a family member set up a gofundme account that gathered more than $75,000. the navajo comb community traveled to standing rock in september and now is in minnesota getting medical attention. but may lose vision in her right eye. >> last year i got hit, turned around and to return and i got shot with a rubber bullet. >> reporter: she along with eight others filed a class action lawsuit against the morton count sheriff's office for using excessive force during that incident. law enforcement officials dispute the claims made by protesters that they were

entire incident a riot. just a few hours ago the governor of north dakota ordered protesters to evacuate their camps out of concerns for harsh winter conditions. this coming just a few days after the u.s. army corps of engineers also stated one of the camps located on army corps land would need to be vacated by monday, some protesters say they are not going to do it. i-jody arias's former attorney talking about how to be disbarred. he asked to be kiss disbarred. he said after beating cancer before the trial he didn't want to come back. >> i wanted to be sure the cancer coming back wasn't represented to the trauma of

15 to 20 years in a profession i wasn't happy participating in. >> the ethics complaints stemmed from him writing a tell all book about the case. arias said that broke attorney/client privilege. another big story tonight -- this cold wet weather. cold for us. here's a live look outside. a gloomy gray da for the sweaters and even jackets. >> in the high country the snow is coming down and driver safety is becoming a major concern. coconino county is using more than 20 cinder trucks and 20 greaters to clear roads. if you're heading to flagstaff be extra careful. the cinders can cause damage to vehicles. if you're following one. as for drivers themselves, being in rough conditions is worth it.

driving how would you -- how would you -- affect your driving conditions and make sure they were ok? the snow is also coming down in southern arizona covering parts of mount lemon near tucson. dangerous road conditions shut down the catalina highway which is the road that takes you up the mountain. >> believe it or not a little of that snow actually moving into maricopa county. here's a look at the satellite and radar. and we're starting to see a little bit of shower activity we have a slight chance for the rest of this evening. then look at the county line there. you see that white? well, that is actually snow coming down over some of the higher mountain peaks. again not getting anywhere close to the valley but at least we may see a little dusting in the mountains to our east. here's a look at the evening forecast. we stay nice and cool and in the 50s. continuing that slight chance of rain at least until midnight and at that time is when we're going to see really chilly

>> a report finds more than 200 people killed on maricopa county freeways during the past three years about half of them were not wearing their seat belts. the study by the "arizona republic" also shows nearly 60% of the crashes did involve alcohol. police in phoenix have blown up a backpack that was left unattended in a downtown parking garage. officers responded to the garage near 4th avenue and adams street to investigate. police used bomb disposal robots to inspect the backpack and it investigating a murder, phoenix police looking for the person responsible for killing one and injuring another after a fight last night. on a light rail platform in east phoenix. still ahead -- more than 100 million people logged on to shop this holiday weekend. >> plus, a land-locked city and boat parade, yes, the two can go hand in hand.

eastern maricopa county. i would say for the most part all of the snow is up in the high country. so along the mogillon rim, totals as much as 9 inches in areas. the snow is is that righting to shift to the south and east in between east of payson and heber. show low getting showers and they continue to see the know but eventually a lot of this is going to move into new mexico. but that snow is certainly sticking. grier at 23 degrees. 28 in show low. it's 29 grand canyon and flagstaff 28. we're going to see some areas dipping into the 30s. we're mainly in the 50s. on the futurecast, we continue to see the snow showers move to the south and east. and as we clear out that is when the really cold

so set in under clear skies as we head into tomorrow. so national weather service already putting out some freeze warnings, this includes part of eastern maricopa county, southern gila county and stretches all the way to tucson. so we're going to see temperatures dipping well into the 20s. that could be dangerous for some pets, pipes and those plants. temperatures around the valley tonight, 39 scottsdale. 37 in levine 39. 40 glendale. 44 phoenix. tomorrow phoenix at 62. 60 chandler. 60 sun lakes and 62 glendale. we're going to see sunshine tomorrow but again those temperatures will be quite a bit below normal. so temperature staying in the 60s. through thursday with sunshine and then another storm system, a weaker one, will bring us a slight chance of rain and some cooler temperatures there by

finally at 6:00 -- skating rink in japan temporarily had to close its doors after a firestorm of on-line criticism over the fact it froze fish into the ice. nearly 5,000 fish they say were purchased at a local fish market were frozen into the ice, along with pictures of a giant fish including stingrays. the idea was to give visitors a sense they were skating on top
