a memorial built in honor of the 19 granite mountain hotshots who died fighting the yarnell hill fire.. team 12's brandon hamilton joins us with a preview... we will never forget the horrific day, june 30, 2013 when 19 granite mountain hotshot firefighters were killed battling the yarnell hill fire.... and tomorrow, a long awaited memorial is set to open to the public to honor the fallen heroes..... there will be a dedication of the new granite mountain hotshots

located 2 miles south of yarnell on state route 89.... the hotshots trail is 2.85 miles long......along the way, every 600 feet, there will be granite plaques set into rocks that show a photo and story of each fallen hotshot. once you reach the obseration deck, you will be able to see the site 400 feet below where the brave men lost their lives as well as the town of yarnell.... there will also be a tribute wall available to leave mementos in honor of the fallen firefighters..... you can also hike down to the site where the men made their final stand to pay your respects.... in it's entirety, the entire hike is 7 miles roundtrip, so you are encouraged to dress appropriately and bring plenty of water for the at least 4 hour roundtrip hike.... the dedication ceremony is set for nine thirty this morning and will be streamed live on 12 news dot com..... checking your hot headlines.. police in phoenix hot headlines..

blew up a backpack that was left unattended in a downtown parking garage. the bag was found near fourth avenue and adams street yesterday. police used bomb-disposal robots to inspect the bag before blowing it up. no word on what was inside. pause this morning.. we are hearing the 9-1-1 calls made after a man attacked students at ohio state university yesterday. police say 18- year-old abdul razaq ali artan.. drove his car onto a sidewalk full of people - then stabbed several students with a butcher knife. eleven people were taken to the hospital - but they are all expected to be okay. artan was later shot and killed by police. they still don't know why he did

happening overnight - a plane carrying a brazilian soccer team crashed.. killing almost everyone on board. officials say there are 5 survivors out of the 81 people on board the plane. the aircraft was taking the players and their crew to colombia for the "copa sudamerica" finals. of the survivors - we know that three are part of the team. a reminder to buckle up when you get behind the wheel this morning.. a new report finds that half of the 200 people killed on maricopa county freeways over the past few years - were not wearing seatbelts. the study by the arizona republic also shows nearly 60-percent of the crashes involved alcohol. the wall street journal reports a drone - being operated by facebook - has crashed in yuma. officials say the drone was on a test flight when it crashed for an unknown reason. no one was hurt - but the drone was damaged beyond repair. officials say the drone weighs less than 1- thousand pounds and has a wingspan larger than that of a boeing 737. it's being tested to one day bring wireless internet to more than a billion people
