we will never forget the horrific day, june 30, 2013 when 19 granite mountain hotshot firefighters were killed battling the yarnell hill fire.... and tomorrow, a long awaited memorial is set to open to the public to honor the fallen heroes..... there will be a dedication of the new granite mountain hotshots memorial state park this morning..... the park is located 2 miles south of yarnell on state route 89.... the hotshots trail is 2.85 miles long......along the way, every 600 feet, there will be granite plaques set into rocks that show a photo and story of each fallen hotshot. once you reach the observation deck, you will be able to see the site 400 feet below where the brave men lost their lives as well as the town of yarnell.... there will also be a tribute wall available to leave mementos in honor of the fallen firefighters..... you can also hike down to the site where the men made their final stand to pay your respects so you are encouraged to dress appropriately and bring plenty of water for the at least 4 hour roundtrip hike.... the dedication ceremony is set for nine thirty this morning and will be streamed live on 12 news dot com..... happening today -

we have new details on the flagstaff police officer-- caught on camera-- punching a woman in the face. flagstaff police tell 12 news that they have talked with or are in the process of talking with ten people who saw the incident between officer jeff bonar and marissa morris. the internal review is on- going-- and the department is also still deciding if morris did anything that would warrant charges. breaking overnight - police say five people have survived a plane crash carrying 81 people, including a brazilian soccer team. officials say the team was heading to colombia for a tournament when the plan way to medellin . thousands of cubans will gather again today to pay tribute to fidel castro. the tribute is part of a national period of mourning for the former leader. neither president obama nor vice president biden will attend castro's memorial service. the cardinals got a little help last night in their desperate push to make the playoffs. the green bay packers beat the philadelphia eagles on monday night.. 27-13 behind two touchdowns passes from

ar dead.. in a plane crash in colombia. the plane was carrying 81 people.. including a soccer team on its way to a tournament. the plane, which crashed near medellin , declared an emergency for an electrical failure late yesterday. officials say the 5 are the only

investigators hope social media can offer clues for why abdul razaq ali artan attacked his fellow students. police say artan, an ohio state freshman, drove his car onto a busy sidewalk yesterday on the columbus campus then stabbed several students with a butcher knife. a campus police officer shot and killed him. police say 18- year-old artan was a student. he was a somali native living in the u-s legally. his family came to the u-s from pakistan in 2014 after fleeing violence in somalia. shortly before yesterday's attack - police say artan posted on facebook. he said attacks on muslims around the world quote "led to a boiling point" and that he couldn't take it anymore. he also mentioned lone wolf attacks. wildfires raging through tennessee have forced thousands to evacuate their homes. the tennessee mountain resort towns of gatlinburg and pigeon forge
