officials in tennessee there say the fires are likely to have been human caused. over 17,000 acres very chard, i should say, making it the state's largest wildfire in over 100 years. as of this morning, just one active fire remains with some 400 buildings now damaged, families are in desperate need of support. dolly parten is stepping forward offering a helping hand through her foundation. >> we want to provide a handup to all those lost everything in the fires. and to recover, we want to make sure the dollywood foundation provides $1,000 a month to all those families that lost their homes in the fire, until they get back up on their feet. >> good to see her helping there. and now i want to bring you to a series of tornadoes that barrelled through the southeast. the death toll now stands at five after bodies were recovered in alabama and also tennessee. look at this video, watch as

holding a gun when he was shot. this morning, a jury is continuing deliberations in the case of makal -- michael slager. the shooting seen here was captured on cell phone video garnering national attention t. jury includes one black man and 11 white people in this state trial. they have been given the option to convict slager of murder, voluntary man slaughter or acquittal t. prosecution deri malice and voluntary manslaughter as unlawful killing in the heat of passion. slager has pleaded not guilty to a trial scheduled for next year. we are now 50 days away from donald trump being sworn in as the nation's 45th president. while preparations are under way. we are getting new reports of another high profile name floated for trump's candidate.
