give-and-take. they sent -- sent out a video on social media. i guess it will take quick reflexes to be able to handle what will happen on tomorrow night's debate stage. >> a host for fox news says the criminal indictments might be a topic on the table. how much will donald trump actually factored into this debate? >> it will absently factoring. it is a source of friction between some of the republican candidates, people i chris christie and the former arkansas governor have been very outspoken. mike pence as well. meanwhile, others like ron desantis have defended donald trump. they have been very outspoken in the defense of donald trump.

interest wildfires burning, including in the u.s. and canada. just across the border in canada, fires burn. firefighters say their biggest challenge is the lack of visibility. no dents have been reported yet in canada but smoke blanketing the region has opted air quality warnings. 50,000 people evacuated. hundreds of firefighters are arriving from overseas to help bring the wildfires under control. cooler weather with a bit of rain is helping to stabilize. tell us what the conditions are like right now.

greek authorities say in the month of august alone about 900 people have tried to cross the border illegally. we know that aging bodies have been recovered. we have been told by one of the local ones that all 18 are male. we know that tomorrow, autopsies will take place. bbc has spoken to a syria man who warned that his 27-year-old cousin was among that group. he says his cousin was traveling with a group of afghans, syrians and iranians. they intended to cross over into the everest region.

>> fires are raging across greece right now. what are authorities saying about their efforts to get the fires under control? >> there are several different fire fronts. two are around the city. the situation right there is described as critical. we have been told that 241 firefighters with 70 vehicles have been in operation in that area. the fires are moving fast. on the turkish side of the border, there is concern about a new outbreak of wildfire which is on the coast. is is a scene not only happening in turkey and greece

but happening in parts of france and parts of spain, part of italy. this is becoming kind of a common picture here. wildfires are not new. the extremes of temperature due to climate change are making the situation much more serious and potentially much more deadly. >> thank you so much. defense officials in ukraine have described claims of corruption. it comes after president zelensky recently fired every regional recruitment had. >> it is ok to be scared.
