i don't let just anyone take care of t.d. - i know all about being responsible. i take care of 3 of my neighbor's houseplants and an ant farm. - ant farm. [whistles] ant farm. - t.d. likes to mimic what he hears sometimes. - mimics what he hears. [whistles] - ha ha ha! - don't worry, mr. barber. t.d. is in good hands. i've done a lot of research on african grey parrots. do you know they can live up to 65 years? - oh, really? that's crazy. i guess that's why they call them grey. - [sighs] you guys, i have to find that parrot. he can be in danger. so could my reputation as a responsible pet-sitter. - maybe he was kidnapped by a collector of rare birds. - except, from what i read, african greys aren't rare. they're a very common housepet. - maybe he flew down south. maybe we should just be searching downtown. - i don't think pet parrots migrate. - hold on. maybe i could pick up some clues. - there's nothing more impressive than a kid cleaning bird poo. take it away, jess. oh! [squawking and laughing] - there! you heard that sound. - it sounds like a bird squawking. - that squawking is the african grey's mating call. that's what we heard out the window just before t.d. flew away. - oh, maybe t.d. has a girlfriend. - play it again. [squawking and laughing] - oh, no! no! t.d.! - you see, there's another sound in the background. it sounds almost like laughter.

- he's kind of a big guy, shaved head, usually travels with a little mean robot. - oh, yes! he had a small, very strong cup of coffee. espresso. they were here about 10 minutes ago buying a big bag of grey african parrot bird seed. - did he say where he was going? - yes, he did. he said, "let's go, robot. we go to the e.d." - the e.d.? what could that be? - ear doctor? - espresso deliveryman. - elephant dentist. - espresso deliverywoman. - electric diner. - that's it. ok, thank you. - hey, you want some biscottii or coffee for the road? - oh, we're good. thank you! - ciao, electric company guys. - [exhales] ok. um, so t.d. flew out. no, ok.

um, he ran away--no. that just doesn't make sense. ok, t.d., he didn't mean to-- [keys jingling] oh. oh. hey, tiki. uh, back so soon? - yeah! it's almost time for the best show on tv-- "judge trudy." - "judge trudy"? - yeah. t.d. and i have a great sense of...justice. how did everything go? - uh, ok. well, everything went-- - t.d., daddy's home. - uh, sir, there's something i have to tell you. - what's up? - i was cleaning out t.d.'s cage, and he escaped... out the window. - what?! my t.d., out the win-- - yeah, i'm so sorry. i just-- - he has no money, no food, no tiki. oh, my! we got to go find him. who are you? - mr. barber, this is your house? - of course it is.

- mr. barber, i think i have something you've been looking for. - oh! t.d.! oh! come here, buddy. how you doing? - oh, he's fine. - who are you? - allow me to introduce myself. my name is manny spamboni. oh! jessica. what a surprise. - cut the act, manny. - mr. barber, we were very lucky. i found poor t.d. in a park with a bunch of rough-looking pigeons, but i swooped in and saved him. looks like somebody was a very irresponsible pet-sitter. good thing manny spamboni was there to pick up the pieces. - uh-uh. that's not true. this is a frame job. manny's just trying to make me look bad. - that is ridiculous! tiki, i would like to offer my own pet-sitting services because when you run, i sit. - i like that! that's a good slogan. - that's my slogan! this isn't fair!

- are you both ready with your cases? - yes, your honor. - [squawks] clean up that seed. - not right now, t.d., ok? manny spamboni, you may begin. - thank you, your most honorable of honors. jessica, in a completely irresponsible act, lost the bird, and i found him. i rest my case. - that's not true. you stole him. - how could i have stolen him when i was nowhere near this legend of the gridiron's apartment at the time of the crime? truth is, you opened the cage, and t.d. flew out. isn't that true? - yeah, but you made that machine that mimics birds squawking. you sent out a mating call to t.d., who flew the coop looking for love. - i did no such thing! - order in the court! - order in the court. clean up that seed. - bird-attracting machine, you say? sounds like something right out of a science-fiction comic book, doesn't it, your honor? ha ha ha ha! tell me, where is this magical piece of technology, hmm?
