her dress. she was escorted by her father. at the altar, prince william waited facing front but his brother could not resist stealing a glance at the bride. just minutes later, the couple exchanged vows in front of the archbishop of canterbury. >> and forsaking all others, keeping only unto him. >> then williams struggled somewhat to slip the wedding ring on to her finger. finally, they were pronounced man and wife given it new titles and by the queen. kate is now the duchess of cambridge.

they emerged to the publicí and the cameras. they then went to buckingham palace for a reception hosted by queen elizabeth. the duke and duchess of cambridge took a surprise drive to relax and change for the evening festivities. >> the wedding gave the world a reason to throw the party. there was countless private get- togethers. there was mass, cakes, you name it. -- there was masks. it was all about celebrating the royal couple. representatives have condemned the deadly bombing in the moroccan city of marrakesh. at least 15 people were killed when a bomb went off in the city's central square, a popular tourist destination. >> investigators are searching for clues at the scene of the bombing. when a popur cafe near the main square. it was packed with customers when the blast took place shortly before noon on thursday. >> there was a huge explosion. we threw ourselves to the ground. a huge crowd of smoke went into the sky along with all sorts of various objects. lots of people tried to escape. lots of people ran towards the square. they did not move for perhaps 10 minutes or even half an hour. >> at the same square, a cwd gathered to protest the

bombings. they called for an end to terrorist attacks of any time. morocco depends heavily on tourism. this was corresponding with the start of the travel season. the moroccan cabinet agreed that the country will not be intimidated by these types ofp% attacks. this is the worst such incident in morocco since 2003 when a series of suicide bombings killed a total of 45 people. >> german authorits have arrested three suspected al qaeda terrorists performing an imminent threat. -- terrorists that are called an imminent threat. they are said to be of moroccan origin. they were preparing to carry out a major terrorist attack here in germany. investigators say the case represents a similar plot

uncovered in 2007. >> we have had several for earnings reports already. we are in the heart of earnings season. on friday come off the first quarter net profit nearly doubled and the outlook for the rest of the year looks rosy. luxury-car is and trucks are in high demand especially in emerging economies. >> there is increasing demand for daimler's mercedes cars. more and more affluent cnese have t ality to buy these cars. that is being reflected in sila sahin -- that is being reflected in daimler's results. they made double what they made in the first quarter last year. their bottom line has been impacted by natural catastrophes.

on food, drinks, and tobacco in march because easter fell in april. easter normally boost grocery sales and last year it came in march. this year's march figure is missing that bonus. some analysts say the retail sector in germany will remain generally strong. home-improvement chain -- says its first quarter sales fell 19% year over year. customers will not accept the price hikes. >> the european central banks needs a new president in october when the jean-claude trichet step down. germany's favorite candidate fell after -- fell out of the running when he announced he was stepping down as head of the bundesbank.

nearly 8000 people were gathered for the lift off. the national hockey team has scored a major upset in the opening round of the championship beating russia 2-0. this is the first time that germany has defeated russia and world championship competition. >> the super star-studded russian squad was caught on aware. germany played aggressive hockey from the start and it paid off. the team was given some added confidence by an early score. they would not be intimidated by their powerful opponents. the goalie was nothing less than superb handling 31 shots on goal. he was later named match -- man of the match. there was a late goal which sealed the deal for a 2-0 victory.
