uncharacteristic and frankly a little difficult because it affected play calling and at one point a 6 .game should have been a 7-point game. brad made three field goals and obviously the return for a touchdown is a huge play in the game. for us for me to go into the game hoping to play for a draw and in my opinion we won the special teams. as an opponent it's difficult to
9:01 pm
>> and nevada wins the and nevada bowl champions here in 2015. 28-23 over colorado state. joining me a couple of seniors. don jackson and lenny jones. guys let's start off with you lenny. what does this win mean to you. it's everything. it's the last game i played in the wolfpack uniform. it's a championship bowl game and we went out the right way. >> don your thoughts. that's the way to go out. ain't no way but that. that's how you close the chapter right there and i'm really excited that's how it went down. we wanted to be the team to make it happen. guys they buckled down and
9:02 pm
when we set our minds to it. lenny you put your name in the record books. this is a great win. special teams. offense. it's a great feeling. >> i want to let you guys clear something up. nevada is playing colorado state. match matchup maybe not what you wanted. i know you guys embraced. shout out to the arizona bowl. >> yeah. >> i think what i said a couple of weeks ago got misconstrued. i have no problem with the bowl game. it's another opportunity to win a championship. it's another opportunity for me and my brothers to play another game game. nothing against the arizona bowl.
9:03 pm
cowboy boots. the 2015 bowl champions and both college graduates. next stop nfl. >> let's do it.
9:04 pm
polian coming up next. welcome back to wolf pack all access. coach polian joining us for one
9:05 pm
you won a bowl game. looking forward and when you look at this season it's a winning season. it's a bowl championship. let's look forward. you've got plenty up in the can you be ureds for the next couple of years. >> the fact that we had 12 seniors. obviously we're going to get a lot younger next year. but i feel like the future is bright. i feel ex-anybody wants to say this season was disappointing. it is hard to win. frankly we have some problems that makes it harder as it relates to peers in our own league. we have a winning record for the second consecutive year. that matters. we've won a bowl game. that matters. am i satisfied by no stretch of the imagination.
9:06 pm
young people the character and the grit that they showed through a lot of the ups and down. as it relates to college football. we are achieving in the classroom to an incredible degree. we posted a 2.9 gpa. we're going to post the highest a ap apr this football team has posted. there's a lot of the positive momentum. there are needs we need to get fixed. but i feel good about where we're headed in the short-term. everybody needs to take a breath. our coaches our staff have worked really hard. everybody deserves to take a breath and then we've got to hit the ground running as it relates to recruiting.
9:07 pm
>> head coach brian welcome back to the wolf pack all access. we move from the football field to lawler event center with the basketball team against wyoming.
9:08 pm
pick things up midway through the first. drew to baseline bucket and one. pack up 17-16. couple of minutes later. later on cannot leave this man open. oliver the two handed jam. 15 points and 8 boards. pack needs a big bucket. coleman drills the 3. and part of a 23-point night. nevada goes on to win 71-68. to win in the conference and stay undefeated at home was one thing we talked about when we
9:09 pm
it is a pride thing. so yes it's to please our this is home. >> so nevada with a 71-68 win over wyoming. nice to get the first conference win. your initial thoughts about the victory. i thought our guys came out in the second half and held them. and you know we got whack to identity which is defending. creating offense through our defense. and the caused 17 turnovers in the game. i think that was vital to us. we're not the same team we were a month ago. we do need our defense to create some steals.
9:10 pm
for us the last couple of games. you're down at halftime. you came out with a lot more fire. 13-2 run to kind of set the tone. we talked about how we had to create some steals and bother them and get into them from a defensive standpoint. the wyoming had won the tempo game. i thought that the first seven minutes of the second half we played their tempo. and it's a broken record. >> i like this. now with marquice we put the ball in his hands. and the night he what i would consider a clutch 3-point shot. and he mixed that drives and then he made his free throws down the stretch.
9:11 pm
into it with a dunk. he just continues to improve. cam is a guy as a freshman you're going to play up and down. he continues to be our anchor inside. he's got great blocking ability. i think his confidence has grown a lot. then our other freshman tonight. drew did a fauphenomenal job of defending. you turned into the road warriors. and go back on the road for fresno state and air force. this is a tough stretch to be in now. we knew at wichita state and new mexico. those are two teams that have combined one loss on the year. those were tough two losses. we go back on out on the road.
9:12 pm
we've got to try to survive this little stretch and keep our head above water. and we know that fresno won at unlv. i think our guys will play with confidence.
9:13 pm
tip-off at before we go tonight here our wolf pack all access just a wonderful season of football at
