an interview you'll see on our station. cliven bundy's family is back in the spotlight during another standoff over federal land. good sunday evening and thank you for joining us at 11:00 i'm olivia. we have new information to tell you about tonight. the officer involved shooting in virginia city. in our 11:00 show last night we confirmed a deputy was shot now we know the suspect has been arrested. jaime hey done was the only reporter to sit down with the story county sheriff in weekend. she joins us in studio. what did the sheriff have to say about this case. >> sheriff gerald antinoro said nobody was killed and the deputy who was shot is

recovering tonight. >> thankfully everybody is alive. my deputy is going to be just fine. >>reporter: a story county deputy is recovering after being shot in the back while respond to go a domestic violence call saturday afternoon. the incident happened in a virginia city highlands around 4:30. authorities a 51-year-old charles stutts allegedly fired multiple shots from a rival which hit the deputy and another person on scene. >> my deputy was able to return fire causing the perpetrator to surrender. he was taken into custody by the deputy. >>reporter: sheriff antinoro says stuts and the other victim were treated for nonlife-threatening injuries. stutts has been booked into jail attempted murder aggravated domestic battery. >> don't know i'll the details yet. don't know what was going through the perpetrator's mind at the time. have a long ways to go in the investigation. >>reporter: the sheriff says

he also says this is the first time a deputy has been shot and n story county since the 1800s. the last known victim was officer humphrey simonds of the gold hill city police department. officer simmonds was shot and killed while investigating a domestic disturbance in 1879. >> it's been a goodly while. >> sheriff antinoro says the investigation division has taken over the criminal investigation because his deputy was involved. the names of the gut and other victim in this case are not being released at this time pending further investigation. sheriff antinoro says his deputy has been placed on routine administrative leave. >> all right thank you jaime. reno police officers say they are looking for two suspects involved in a shooting early this morning. police say it happened just

outside one up barron the 200 block of west commercial row at 3:45 a.m. officer say they found two gunshot victim wes they arrived on scene scene. those two people were taken to the hospital with nonlife- threatening injuries. police say than witnesses told them the suspects and the victims were arguing right before the shooting. >> officers arrived did find two victims of gunshot wounds who were transported we're currently wait for an update on their condition and severity of their injuries. >> one suspect is described as a hispanic man wearing a dark blue sweatshirt. the other is also described as a his panic man standing 5, v 55:00. 5 9:00. it sounds like a change is on the way. some let's check in with

>> we have a very active pattern setting up in the sierra. it's not going to stop anytime soon. we're expecting snow title totals of upwards of 20 inches in the highest elevations and that's just for tuesday. we do have a slight warm up on the way and snow will reach the valley floor for tuesday. that winter storm watch goes into effect monday afternoon for the sierra. and then tuesday into wednesday for the south and eastern portions of the state. today we did reach a high of 35 degrees that's only 10 degrees below average. so site i slightly warming up getting back to average temperatures. we'll see our temperatures get into the 40s latter on this week. reno it's still a very cold 29 degrees calm winds and relative humidity its arising. we have moderate air quality so a yellow burn code voluntary no burn is in effect for the evening. taking a look at your 24 hours. we have a cloudy day tomorrow as those storms are rolling in to the sierra.

>> all right thanks kathy. well reno firefighters say the cool temperatures we've been experiencing have made for a busy week responds to go burst it pipes. division chief says crews have responded to at least half a dozen incidents of burst it pipes today alone. in the past week they have responded to as many as 20 incidents. firefighters have been called out to several apartment complexes in reno including the bluffs and sierra hall on the university of nevada campus. another byproduct of this freezing weather. firefighters say icy roads caused a car to crash into a tree in downtown reno early this morning. reno fire department officials say the crash happened just after 2:30 a.m. near ryland and sinclair. they say one person was removed from the two-door car and two more were possibly ejected. they believe those people ejected may have walked away from the scene.

>> too early to tell you about the ice played a bit of a factor when they got a little bit off the side of the road they hit the ice and slid into the tree. >> fire officials on scene said they were not sure about the extent of the injuries. >> new tonight at 11:00 officials from henry mountain resort said an un occupied chair fell from the lift but no one was injured when it fell from the downhill path of the north bowl chairlift around : 11:00 a.m. they did have to stop operating that chairlift though and evacuate 65 people from it. officials say the resort has suspended the north bowl chairlift's operations while they look into the cause of the fall. a standoff continues in oregon tonight where anti-government activists including cliven bundy's son are occupying a federal office building at a wildlife refuge. at least one person was affirmed as the group of protesters took over the

national wildlife refuge near burns oregon that's a 6 hour drive north from reno. they are protesting the impending imprison canment of two local ranchers what they call the tyranny of the federal government. the group is led by am monday bundy the son of cliven bundy the nevada rancher stand off with federal authorities over grazing rights. >> when government steps outside of its bounds the people have given it, that it is the duty of the people to put that government back in its place. >> this latest stand off is in support of two oregon ranchers a father and a son facing jail time for lighting fires on federal land. the two men served their five year sentence but a judge ruled that time was not long enough. today marked the last day of business for reno provisions owner mart estes closed the doors for the last time tonight.

reno provisions was the source of e. coli outbreak in november. he's not closing because of the outbreak but instead because the store was just lookeding too much money. he posted on facebook earlier they week saying quote this is not the first time i have had to go through this but this one is the hardest. coming up next on news 4 at 11:00 both bay area nfl teams were trying to finish off the 2015 regular season on a high note. how their games played out that's coming in sports. >> winter storm warning goes in effect monday afternoon.

. welcome back. e whenever un. tomorrow is the last day to drop off new or gently used coats at the whitney peak hotel. the annual coat drive benefits women and children in need to ada abused women. there are drop off bins in the hotel lobby downtown and you have a little time to drop some coats off. tomorrow is also the last day to pay a 25-dollar registration fee for the annual reno tahoe senior winter games. starting tuesday registration will cost $35. the event starts on saturday january 30th sands regeneral say and runs through valentine's day. the games include more than a dozen sports and activities

like archery bowling and card games. the city of reno has also added basketball indoor golf, pool and shuffleboard to this year's games. for more information you can e- mail senior services at reno .gov or call 657-4602. it's been more than a week since our last big snowstorm but it sounds like we have some more winter weather on the way. we'll send it over to meteorologist kathy wilson for your full forecast. >> good evening. we are watching this winter storm rolling in. winter storm watch has been issued for the sierras taking effect monday afternoon with 10 to 20 inches for the high sierra. 4 to 8 inches around the lake. even 5 to 10 inches down in the white mountains over in the eastern portion of the state we are watching for five to 8 inches of snow expect travel impacts along the interstates and then some blizzard conditions are in available potentially in the sierra. on doppler radar we have a few snow showers picking up right

now up towards the lake. snow is falling and then down into carson city as well as into south reno. and out in the eastern portion of the state there is snow showers near battle mountain. putting your future cast in motion what we have going on is this low pressure right here this trough is bringing, pumping i should say moisture into the california coast north to southern california rain all around. that's going bring snow and more snow into the sierra as well as the eastern portion of the state into your day on tuesday. but right now it is 29 degrees in reno. calm winds. we're watching that relative humidity begin to rise as the storm does approach. around the area temperatures are dropping 29 degrees in south lake tahoe. 25 in carson city. 23 degrees up in over in fallon and those temperatures are going to be colder for tomorrow but then we do have a slight warm up putting your future cast in motion for clouds and precipitation timing out this storm when it's going to hit

us. monday morning for your commute things look clear picking up through the day on monday. we are watching snow showers impacting the area most heavy snow guysing to fall between 1:00 a.m. thursday and 6:00 p.m. looking at the snow accumulations with this storm as we move through the day on monday by 10:00 p.m. snow has fallen all across the state and then by the end of the storm this tuesday the snow storm is going to blanket the whole entire state with highest snow elevations in elko. eureka northern nye county as well as into the sierra. we're seeing up to 20 inches of snow falling impacting travel. tonight's forecast 26 degrees very cold. we're still below freezing with those temperatures trying to rise up to that 40-degree mark for tomorrow. we do have a very stormy sierra so expect cloud cover to continue to increase throughout the day with those southerly win. moving across the state we are

watching temperatures into the teens overnight out towards elko and battle mountain. temperatures warming up trying to get above freezing for most of the state down in the eastern sierra. snow showers are possible picking up early in the morning because this storm is moving in from the south. so the first to be impacted will be areas like bridgeport mammoth lake but reaching highs into the mid 30s for tomorrow. carson city we're watching temperatures peek into the upper 30s with mostly cloudy conditions and snow falling into monday night and tuesday. up at the lake pretty warmer day compared to normal east do have temperatures into the mid 40s for most areas with those snow showers impacting into tuesday 1:00 a.m. overnight hours. up northern viewers susanville temperatures reaching into the mid 30s for most of the day tomorrow. then down on the valley floor we're going to watch colder temperatures overnight below freezing but then we're going to jump back right above freezing with mostly cloudy skies southerly winds 5 miles per hour. putting your extended forecast

boo view we see those temperatures climbing just a little bit into the 30s and 40s. a lot better than what we have experienced with all that very cold weather but we are expecting 1 to 3 inches of snow on tuesday down into the valley. over to sports. >> well it's been a disaster of the season for the san francisco 49ers just minutes after sunday's game against the st. louis rams the 9ers fired head coach. hosting rivals. 2nd quarter 9ers down three. blaine grab bart firing down to anquan bowl enhe trips his way into the end zone for 33 yards. they go ahead 7-3. just before the half tray mason looks to tremendous throw but he keeps it scores from 4 yards out. ramming up 16-10 at the break. this game would go into overtime. tied at 16. rams with a chance to win from 48 yards out but the 9ers block it.

san francisco would get the last chance of the game. could they do it? well phil dawson chip shot it's good. 49ers win it 19-16 in overtime finish the season at 5-11. meanwhile the oakland raiders showed flashes of improvement in 2016 but still fell short of the postseason. the silver and black tried to send future hall of famer charles woodson out a winner at the end of his 18th and final season. pick it up in the second raiders down 14-3. alex split throws to the right sidend david amerson steps in front of the pasta it back 24 yards for the pic 6 raiders down 4. kc special teams steps up marquette king's punt is blocked they get back to the end zone. chiefs up 16-10. to the fourth derek carr trying to lead the raiders back hooks up with michael crabtree in the corner of the end zone for the score. raider finish 7-9. chiefs win this one 23-17.

into high gear in 2016. they say they produced more than 50,000 electric cars in 2015 but company representatives say sales for last year were not as high as they would like. ceo says he originally expected sales to reach 55,000 cars. he did say he has high hopes for the new year though because tesla's new northern nevada gig a factory is fired up and the company is churning out more vehicles than ever. before we go here's something that may make your first monday morning driver to work in 2016 a little more pleasant. the gas to get you there may not cost as plaintiff this year. the average driver spent about get this, $700 lesson gas in 2015 and starting off this year the national average is about $2 a gallon. that's about a quarter lower than this time last year. analysts say there's a bigger supply of crude oil than there is a demand and that means prices at the pump could drop another 15 cents a gallon this
