like, well, we don't have any snow on the ground. >> good morning to you. you can see on the live camera, a little bit of that fog off in the distance. it is a situation where fog settles in the valley so that particular skycam happens to be just above the valley floor and looking down, you can see the fog in the distance. we are dealing with an icy situation as a result. the fog is liquid droplets in the air. once it settles on and attaches to the ground and other surfaces, it freezing instantly. freezing fog advisory remains in place right up until 9:00 a.m. once we get the sun to rise -- once the sun does rise, we don't get it to rise, but once the sun rises woman see the chance for the freezing fog

the roads will warm up and they will be wet rather than icy. before a little bit of drying. maybe some of that fog is starting to dissipate. if you are out and about across the area, you could run into some of that fog and some of that ice so please take it easy. 20s and 30s across the area. coldldnough to support the ice on the roads which is what we are seeing out there. zooming in on we were nevada in the sierra. it is below freezing for pretty much everyone. that is a dangerous situation. that and we have more moisture on the way. it is falling as rain over in the bay area. starting to make its way towards the central valley of california. that means we should start to see the flakes fly in the mountains. there have been several crashes throughout the night and into this morning. check out this video shot a couple of hours ago by a

good news t does look like the fog is clearing out a little bit. so far, we've only seen two cargo planes take off as the fog has started to go away over the past two and a half hours or so. we have not seen any airlines take off or come in so far this morning as flights are being delayed and canceled. we are over here outside of the b gates typically where the southwest planes take off. we are not even seeing any planes this morning. the biggest advice for anyone heading over to the airport, make sure to check to your airline. people are seeing delays not only as long as five hours but even seven hours long. so again, just make sure you check specifically with your airline. now, with did speak to some people and here is how they said they will be killing their time while they wait for flights. >> i've got a lot of e-mails. if my boss is listening to, i do want to say i'm going to be working hard at the restaurant and bar.

woman passed away due to apparent respiratory failure. st.mary's has yet to comment on the death of the young woman. last week, her father lost a court case that would delay brain wave tests performed on his daughter possibly showing she was brain dead and wouldn't recover. a six-hour standoff way s.w.a.t. team some sparks yesterday ended peacefully when the suspect surrendered. police say daniel enrique surrendered yesterday afternoon. officers say they removed three other people from the home on o street about an hour earlier. they say the suspect made statements about shooting at police officers. police say he was armed with a handgun. he was also a suspect at a shooting that happened at the gold dust casino in december.

behind bars suspected of child neglect appear animal cruelty. washoe county sheriff's officials say kathleen dean and jole nevment dean were arrested saturday after a welfare check. deputies say they found hazardous living conditions for three children between 11 and 14 years old. the children are currently in the care of washoe county child protective services. animal control officers also reportedly found dozens of animals on the property ranging from dogs and cats to birds and other animals. the animals are being cared for now by regional animal services. if you are getting phone calls asking for a donation to help a firefighter's burn fund, beware. the reno firefighters association say it may be a fake phone solicitation. they are not making it. the call is coming from 775 area code numbers started in september. they continue to make the rounds. they claim to be with the associated firefighters burn fund. the call are is not linked with any fire agency in the state.
