2:22 am
it as quickly as possible. but if you can take it and put it over a bowl a rubber band, which seems silly. except if you submerge the whole thing it's all red. so we want to limit it. take some cold water. >> just cold water? >> ice cold. >> ice cold water. ice cold club soda. if you have that at your party that's great too. let that drain through. process. but we're going to -- >> so we'll come back. >> then you pour salt on it? >> yes. so once it drains through you're going to go and just put a whole bunch of salt on it. out. >> it is. so we're going to do that. coming out. but you're going to want to layer it. and then we can go down here where we have it ready. >> so what did you do aufr put salt on it? minutes. you would let it drain through layer. then you take really hot boiling water and we're going to pour this right through. sow want to take your time and be careful because you're going to have a bowl full of really hot water at this point. and let the stain work through.

2:24 am
i thought you said faces. >> or tomato. let it do its thing. great shape. >> all set. >> absolutely. dentures, that's a good thing to have around. >> what about coffee stains? >> if you have the white china and it's a little bit of a concern you don't want to serve your guest with that. you take one part of hydrogen peroxide to three parts of water and then you just pour it in there. i know with a standard coffee cup it's a little bit different. >> this is more mug size. >> mug size. or if it's your china. peroxide can get the stain out. >> how long? >> you can let it soak for about 15, 20 minutes. >> just don't let anybody drink out of it. >> that would taste horrible. >> some scratches you see on china. >> you take a white toothpaste, you don't want to use a gel. and we're going to take it on a cloth here. >> this is kind of miraculous what this does. >> this is really fantastic.
2:25 am
it's crazy. >> that's it? just -- >> just gently rub it on there. and it will take all the scratches out. and then you can wash them as usual. >> we don't really have time, i'm sorry, for the last few. but there's lipstick -- i know. >> but they're all on our website. >> they're on our website. that was great, amy. >> thank you very much. >> dessert for under 100 calories, we promise. joy food. >> and you'll be turning a ton of calories with the latest our weekend warrior workout after this. phil! oh no... 2:28 am
pull the handlebar in. >> is it hard, donna? i know it's not for jay. >> i really like it. >> feels good. >> with the water it feels -- >> and no impact on your knees. >> it's a low impact workout but it's total body. so it's smart. it's effective, right? because it's efficient. >> and again, you're working every muscle? >> it's about 85% of your muscles. that's a lot of muscles. >> is city row just in new york or can people -- >> we're just in new york. >> come on, branch out. >> sounds like it's going to be branching soon. >> i hope so. >> well, we wish you good luck. it seems like a great exercise routine. thank you, annie and city row people. >> what's up next? since i can't see. >> louis licari's revealing the three hottest trends in hair color for the year. and you're going to go bananas for these delicious desserts. >> junk food to joy food with our own joy bauer. after your local news.
2:29 am
and go.go. friday. and if you've already started your new year's diet you know one of the hardest parts is giving up dessert. >> well, here's some good news. you don't have to because our "today" food team nutritionist called -- >> joy bauer. >> to help turn your junk food into joy food. >> our viewers challenged joy to come up with healthier versions of a banana split and s'mores. whoa, and you took the challenge. >> yes. and there's no guilt whatsoever required for these. everybody that's into their newfound healthy eating habits 100% guilt-free. the first one, the banana split comes from francesca rietti. she's from ryeberg, new york. and if you can imagine when you order it in a restaurant, and this is not that huge -- >> they look small but i've seen them boat size. >> this will cost you about 1,150 calories.
2:30 am
make my version. which is just a fraction of that math. you need bananas, semi-sweet chocolate chips, granola, or you could have chopped peanuts, whichever you prefer, and you need some popsicle sticks. >> that's it? >> that's it. we're going to start. you're going to take one banana. you're going to peel it and slice it in half. this makes about eight servings, the recipe. then you're going to put your popsicle stick through. and we're going to put it right into the freezer for about two to three minutes -- i mean two to three hours. sorry. and then we're going to have our frozen. you're going to dot assembly line. you each take one. >> it's frozen. >> i've taken about a cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips. it's so easy to melt them in the microwave. i put it in for about 30 seconds, stir around, and in 15-second increments after that you keep stirring until it melts and you two are going to stick your bananas right in here, swirl it around sow get a lot of chocolate. >> this is weird.
2:31 am
>> it's an unfortunate choice of words. but whatever. >> depending upon what you want i rolls it in some chopped peanuts over here. >> that's what i'll do. how about you, hoda? >> or the granola. >> this is going to be such a winner. >> at dinner parties what i like to do is i put them out in a banana split glass bowl and a little bit of whipped green. >> the presentation. >> it's so good. >> the original, 1,150 calories. this one, 180 calories. >> you know, where's the carrot? that's the best ever. >> oh, my god. wow. it takes like you're eating ice cream. >> josie rosenberg, come over here, baby. we're going to have a major tester in here. >> is that kosher? >> it's kosher. >> take a bite. >> mm. >> is that good? >> that's yours. >> well, thank you. >> i'll take him out to lunch later. >> diet-friendly.
2:32 am
i think you're going to like the s'mores just as much. this comes from jack youngins. he's from massapequa, new york. and him and his family, they have camp fires and they love make s'mores. s'mores are not that bad, only 143 calories. but girls, we can do better. so this is what we're going to do. we're going to take marshmallows first. each of you take a stick. and now i'm showing you how to melt the chocolate a different way. this is -- obviously we're doing a double boiler. you can do it with, you know, a handy gadget or you can obviously just do it like we're doing it with a glass bowl. and we're going to each take a marshmallow. you're going to take this one. we're going to put it on top. >> what are you doing? just sticking it in? >> just stick it right in. and let the chocolate drip down the stick. then all we're going to do is dip it in the chocolate, just the top half. and now we're going to roll it or different it right into our graham crackers. and you can do plain graham crackers, chocolate, cinnamon -- >> look how cute this is. >> is this adorable?
2:33 am
because i'm not a marshmallow person. >> each of these, 60 calories. >> hoda, you give it a try. >> see what you think. >> mm. my god. >> is that yummy? >> yeah. and look at the presentation. i have dried lentils over here. you can do chocolate chips. it's so easy at a party. >> two carrots up. when's the cookbook coming up? >> in a couple of weeks. and these recipes are on the website. >> they're in the business of love making and they're not afraid to admit it. funny men are going to try to make a match between a young lady from our plaza and one of our "today" show bachelors right after this.th.ake me smile. spending the day with my niece. i don't use super poligrip for hold, because my dentures fit well. before those little pieces would get in between my dentures and my gum and it was uncomfortable. even well fitting dentures let in food particles. just a few dabs of super poligrip free
2:34 am
so you're more comfortable and confident while you eat. so it's not about keeping my dentures in, it's about keeping the food particles out. try super poligrip free. working on my feet all day gave me pain here. in my lower back but now, i step on this machine and get my number which matches my dr. scholl's custom fit orthotic inserts. now i get immediate relief from my foot pain. my lower back pain.
