indication that the men were linked to yesterday's attack in that city.seven people were killed in the attack, including an indonesian and a man of dual canadian-algerian nationality. the five others who died were suspected attackers.twenty-four people were also seriously injured. indonesia has seen attacks by islamist militants before... but a coordinated assault by a team of suicide bombers and gunmen is unprecedented and has echoes of the sieges seen in mumbai seven years ago and in paris last november. 3 (bill)>> police have confirmed that isis was responsible for the attack and named an indonesian militant as the mastermind. police believe he leads a militant network and is pulling strings from isis's reported capital in syria. 3 (samantha)>> in japan ... fourteen people were killed and 27 hurt when a bus rolled off a mountain roadway early this morning.the bus was carrying tourists to a ski resort when it crashed.there were 41 people on board.... 39 passengers and two drivers.

temperatures are 3 seasonably chilly to start the day once again. here's a look at the current temperatures. the back edge of the storm is pushing through right now...meaning an end to the snow from north to south.snow will end over the next couple of hours for our southern zones...then it's a mainly dry day before our next push of moisture arrives overnight tonight into tomorrow morning...and that's not the end of it...there's more on the 7 day forecast.a winter storm warning remains in place in pink with a winter weather advisory in purple. with snow coming to an end...some of these may disappear in the next couple of don't...they are set to expire at 10am.snow is ending as we speak from south...once it comes to an end look for partly to mostly cloudy skies and near-average temperatures with decreasing winds.on the 7 day forecast...an active pattern continues...we're dry during the day today but additional chances for valley rain and mountain rain/snow continue through much of the 7 day forecast. temperatures remain close to average for this time of year.3

speaking of the schools, here's what we know, all inclined schools are closed today. all other schools are on a two- hour delay. and bishop and oak high school are on two hour delays and storey county schools as well. if you would like a full list of the closures and delays head to our website news 4.com. this quickly changed over to snow in a hurry. >> it was backing out of the driveway today, i heard it. the crunch of new snow when you're backing out. i thought oh, it's going to be an ugly one this morning. i-80 wasn't plowed. it's one of the quick interviews, it didn't catch him off guard. >> they knew it was coming, but they can't keep up. it's so quick. >> for sure, it definitely was a quick hitter as far as snow is concerned. it's over for everyone almost, the damage is done, there is

some spots, alex is going to be talking about that later. we'll still have tough driving for us this morning. however, the actual active snow that was falling is pretty much done for almost everyone, we're going to take a look at radar and see a few spots where it's still snowing but even in those spots, it should be coming to an end shortly here. 45 in reno-sparks, we're in the 40s for a lot of us for the day today, it's close to average this time of the year. snow showers coming to an end leading to a drier conditions, they're gusting to 35 at times this morning, that also will be decreasing as we go through the day today. check out the last couple of hours here, snow across much of the area, ending very quickly for many of us already this morning and we'll continue to see an end to the snow. it's turning much more snow showery out through eureka county and elko county.

drying up. same thing happened in western nevada. it was snowing for a lot of us and now for many of us in western nevada, the snow is over, there's one or two snow showers left just east of carson city and out through dayton. as you look to the east of dayton, and along highway 50, it's continued to move east along the highway and also showing signs of drying up. overall the trend is much drier for the day today, much quieter as well. the roads should dry out, partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies. we have more moisture on the way. we have more snow in the forecast, the first arrives tomorrow morning and we'll look at it in futurecast. >> i like to see it stacking up on each other. the rain and snow has been good for the ongoing drought. it's causing hazards on the roadways and we'll have a look at what the roads are like this morning. hey, there, alex. >> reporter: hey, good morning,

when we got here at 5:00 this morning, it wasn't that cold, it was a little chilly but not too bad. over the past hour, it's been extremely cold compared to when we first got out here. that's what caused the problems on the roadways, they get colder. the snow on the roads overnight, it will start to morning goes on. we're driving on 80 to get here to rob drive. the sooner we got over to rob drive, that's when we started to see more snow and ice on the freeway. the big concern for drivers is going to be these side streets as you're pulling out of your complex, you're pulling out of your neighborhood trying to get on that freeway, trying to get to work or wherever it is you're going. i want you to be aware and cautious roads will be slippery. we saw one car spin out this morning. they were fine, they gained control again. it is slick. while there aren't chain controls to get out of the

gold ranch as well as in truckee, if you're going to be handing over the summit make sure you double-check before you get out there, make sure you have your chains if you plan on skiing or snowboarding, take it slow and take it easy and be safe this morning. reporting live, back to you. on the crime watch, reno police are investigating reports of shots fired earlier last night on bringly avenue on pepper mill. residents were asked to stay inside while police were searching the area, one person was taken into custody as part of that investigation. in more crime news, carson city sheriff's detectives have put a man behind bars. jacob huntman was taken on charges for accessory to murder and other felonies.

carson city. carson city sheriff deputies say that the investigation is ongoing and they're asking for the public's help for any information in that case. the number to call is at the bottom of your screen. they're adding more guards and training officers how to use rubber bullets to end the shootings behind bars. the board of state prison commissioners. the state is facing lawsuits over prison shootings including one in high state prison where it left a prisoner dead. they want to reduce the need for lethal force but it is a life saving last resort. olivia gives us the first look at the new app called my rpd. >> reporter: here's this platform untapped locally, we want to have a presence there. >> we use our smartphones to communicate with each other every day.

wants you to use your phone to communicate with them. >> i wanted to really engage younger users, users that rely solely on the device, a lot of any more. >> they use our phone. the officer wanted to make sure the my rpd app reflected the local community. >> we brought in artists and designers that work and live in the area. >> locals to use the app and created kept it under budget spending $35,000 on the technology. >> that really is due to the good-hearted people who worked on the project and gave their time and effort at a really good rate for the city and the taxpayers. >> he thinks the rpd app will be the main way they submit information to local police.

compliments as well. you can test out the new app yourself, it's available for iphone and android users. a controversial solar rate staying in place for now, despite angry consumers. they voted to deny a stay that would have put a pause on solar rate changes. solar customers are angry over increases and a flat fee and decreases in their net metering rates. the rate changes make solar no longer affordable in nevada and is causing solar people to leave their jobs. they're asking to reconsider. >> nevada ranked third nationally for the most solar capacity installed. the state employed nearly 6,000 people.

very few and far between at this point, it will be ending very shortly for you, and we're looking at a drier day out ahead of us for friday, not much going on for friday out there. by the time we get to tonight, though, once again the overnight hours, the moisture moves back on in, rain and snow showers once again, coming to an end for many of us for part of the day on saturday, another round for sunday, we're not done, the seven-day forecast has a lot to show you on this morning here. winter weather advisory same story, these will disappear in short order, these showers, but they're slated to extend until 10:00 a.m. the snow is ending for a lot of us. this same story is probably going to come to an end, the national weather service hasn't cancelled them yet.

head out the tour and getting into your car, and your car was parked outside, it will be covered in snow and it will be iced over a little bit. get out earlier so you can start the defroster and you can see, nothing worse of getting into your car and not be able to see out the windshield and head on to the roadways when it's slick, especially when they're slick this morning. they're driving on the freeways, these trucks are out here. take it slow and easy. the roadways are very slick and it's going to be difficult as you are trying to get out of your complexes or even out of your neighborhoods this morning. now, something else to keep in mind. we're seeing chain controls in effect. open your gold ranch as well as in truckee over there in the summit. if you're going to be heading up that way, any time this weekend going skiing or snowboarding, chain controls will be going out there as well. be prepared if you're going to be heading out that weekend.

3:30, 4:00 in the morning. >> there wasn't a lot of the roads and melted. it was a dicey ride into work. >> yeah, it was a little tough for some folks. my drive was not terrible. i live on the valley floor, you ended up with a little more and i did. it was snowing nonetheless while i was driving in and that led to tough roads out there. i think rob drive might be in tough shame and that's where alex is, take it easy on the roads this morning even though snow is no longer falling for pretty much all of us. it's partly to mostly cloudy skies. south winds are gusting at 35 at times. it's breezy this morning and the winds will be letting up as we head through the day easing off. the snow where did it go. it's gone for most of us.

how the spacecraft [ opening bell on the stock ex change ] a rough situation on wall street this morning, the market has been open 14 minutes and it actually touched below 16,000 on the dow, it has come up a little bit. look at the numbers, dow jones currently down 360 points and nasdaq down 2.5%, 112 points as well. here's some of the stories making financial headlines, a busy day in washington, there's three government reports due out today.

releases retail sales and november. the labor department releases producer numbers as well and they report on last month's industrial production and more on moratorium on core leases. the obama administration wants to review fees charged to mining companies and whether they provide a fair return to american taxpayers. the demand for coal has dwindled in recent jeers. sears holdings owns 952 k- stores. financial disclosure. they said there would be a small percentage of their overall stores. most of the closures will be k- mart stores. the company has been trying to reduce the number of stores it owns as consumers do more of their shopping online. dow jones is down 433

good morning to you, the snow we saw overnight last night has come to an end for almost everyone across the area. we're going to start a drier trend for the day. talk it easy out there on your morning commute today. 47 in town -- 3, and gusts could be higher than that. we're seeing mostly to partly cloudy skies, now, that the snow has come to an end, it will clear out. where there are wet and snow covered roads, they're going to stay that way and icy for the next couple of hours until the sun helps us get going and check this out, the snow came through during the overnight and early-morning hours. it petered out as we moved off to the south. we're looking at dry at this point for the rest of the day. that's how it looks on futurecast, the rest of date looking dry. >> by the time we got to tonight, the next round of moisture starts to arrive

-- we're not done yet, the seven-day forecast is pretty busy with additional rounds of morning, their sunday's round on the way in for futurecast as well. there's a winter winter in place, it might be cancelled earlier than 10. a lot of the winter weather advisories were already cancelled at this point, the winter weather advisory in white pine county keeps going until 1pm unless, of course, they cancel it earlier than that. highs in the 30s in northeastern nevada, partly cloudy skies for the winds today. winds decreasing for the day. anything out there it will decrease and let up for us as we head into the rest of the day, the afternoon hours included. highs in the 30s, morning winds letting off the area. we're going to see quieter conditions, highs in the 30s for western nevada at the lower elevations. seven-day forecast we have a busy seven-day even though it's

-- most of the day we've dried out, we'll see another round of moisture arrive by tonight and into tomorrow. moisture continues to be a very good chance out there for rest of that seven-day forecast with occasional rain and snow showers depending on elevation, so pretty active across much of that seven-day forecast, highs near average all the way across. well, jupiter orbiter juno has broken a record and traveled farther from the sun than any other spacecraft. it was launched from cape canaveral in florida and it broke the distance record wednesday when it reached more than 493 million miles from the sun. the previous record holder was the european space agency's rosetta spacecraft and it peaked out at the 432 million mark.
