3 (bill)3 >> now to a developing story... the search is now beginning its fifth day for a missing ski instructor at california's sugar bowl resort. there is still no sign of 23-year-old carson may. authorities say he may have been on the mountain for six days now as he was last seen skiing while off duty thursday afternoon.his friends reported him missing friday morning after he didn't make it home and his belongings were discovered in his locker at the ski resort.a placer county spokesman says a search party of more than 43 people are facing many challenges. 3 ((they're are avalanche all over this mountain right now. this weather in the past few days has been tremendously hindering our search efforts.)) 3 (bill)>> may's friends say he's an experienced skier and this gives them hope that he's alive. 3 (sam)>> happening today... reno dodge is presenting the nevada humane society with a

morning.the donation should help the organization with its mission of helping animals and finding loving families for homeless pets. the owner of reno dodge... "don weir" will be presenting the check at the dealership this morning at 10:30. 3 (bill)>> making state news... the bill for holding a four-day special legislative session last month to lure carmaker faraday future to nevada is larger... than the one to clear tax breaks for tesla.officials expect the total to be about 250-thousand dollars when printing costs and all travel reimbursements are paid.the session cost is nearly twice as much as a two -day special session in 20- 14 for tesla.the recent session lasted longer even though faraday's incentive package was much smaller. concerns about water use and bond financing drew out the session. 3 (bill)>> lawmakers approved 215- million dollars in tax breaks for faraday and authorized 120-million in infrastructure improvements at the apex industrial park in north las vegas.

news... the chief operating officer of allegiant air is resigning.52-year-old "steve harfts" is leaving after serving in the position for about a year.he first joined the las vegas- based airline in december of 2014.his resignation follows questions about allegiant's safety record and several incidents involving emergency landings and mechanical issues.the airline recently ordered more training for pilots and dispatchers after a plane had to land because it was low on fuel.a former pilot is also suing the airline for firing him after he ordered an emergency evacuation when he detected smoke in a jet engine. 3 (bill)>> new trash cans are being delivered in sparks... and it's causing some confusion for residents. news 4's alex cannito joins us in studio with a look at what you need to know about these new carts. 3 (alex)>>the new carts being passed out look a lot like the current trash cans northern nevadans have... but they're actually single stream recylcing carts. they're the green carts with blue lids. officials started distributing

year... and it will take them until the end of january as they ahve 28 thousand carts to hand out. 3 the most important thing to know about these carts... is do not get rid of your current trash cans... as the new ones are for your recycable items. other things to keep in mind... you can only use the carts provided by waste management to recycle and throw out your trash, you don't need to rise out your recyclbles but liquids and loose food can't be placed in the recycling carts. also officials want to stress if you use your recycling cart for trash... you will receive two warnings before being charged for contamination.i asked officials with waste management why impliment these carts now... and they say they're trying to lead the way to a greener sparks. 3 ((polito: "this just helps become better with the times. other cities in the united states have had single stream recycling since the late 1990s. reno implimented it in 2014 and it was wonderful success for those residents. so sparks constiutents begged for it and their elected officials voted for it in

the today show in just a little bit.)) 3 (bill)>> making international news this morning.....iraq's defense ministry has released video of airstrikes on isis targets north of baghdad.the video is said to show airstrikes on extremist hideouts in samarra, north of the iraqi capital last monday night. in a statement, iraq's defense ministry said quote - "airstrikes were able to destroy a number of vehicles. one of them was a car bomb prepared to be detonated." 3 (samantha)>> in pakistan... the taliban has claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing that killed eleven people at a crowded police checkpoint on the outskirts of the city of peshawar. officials say a suicide bomber riding a motorcycle blew himself up at a checkpoint on the road leading to neighboring afghanistan.dozens of people were wounded in the blast. peshawar is a stronghold of the taliban and other islamic militants. officials said the dead include four police officers and seven civilians, including two children and a local

authorized $120 million in infrastructure improvements at the apex industrial park in north las vegas. seven minutes after the hour on your tuesday. new trash cans are being delivered in sparks and are causing confusion. we are joined in the studio to look at what you need to know about these new trash carts. >>reporter: the new trash can being passed out looks like the current ones that nevadans already have. their recycling carts and they are green cards with blue lids. officials started them at the top of the year and it will take till january. them 28,000 carts to hand out. the most important thing, do not get rid of your current trash cans. the new ones are only for recyclable items. you can only use the card provided by waste management to recycle and throw out trash and you don't need to rinse out your recyclables. liquids and loose foods cannot

sad news, trend -- glenn frey, founder of the eagles, has passed away. glenn frey died in new york city after fighting roman toward -- rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis and pneumonia. he was 67 years old. the family would like to thank everyone who joined glenn frey to fight his fight and hoped and prayed for his recovery, up until his passing. glenn frey, one of the founding members of the eagles. a wonderful musician. he came to reno a few times as the eagles performed. my wife and i saw him perform. man, they didn't skip a beat. they were a lot older than in their heyday. but, they still sounded awesome. >> 2016 has not been a good year, so far, four deaths. >> not a good start.

outrage grows over the water crisis in flint, michigan. the mayor is going to washington to push the white house for help. michigan's governor is poised to give the state of the state address and is expected to be greeted by protesters enraged by the crisis. >>reporter: [chanting] angry protesters in flint, michigan are calling for the rest of governor rick snyder ask the residents cope with lead contaminated water flowing in their homes. it started in april 2014. the state temporarily switched the city's water source to the notoriously dirty flint river. it was a cost-saving measure while they built a new supply line. the water was found to be highly corrosive and flowed through service lines made of lead carrying but noxious element into homes. the water source was switched
