decision.sot: what that will do is it will turn the net metering rules back to what they were before.kevin benson is a new officer of a newly created political action committee called the "no solar tax pac." he and others like joseph stephenson say this decision is hurting people. sot: after the five year incremental changes to the rate structure, it will be cheaper and more cost effective for me to pull my own solar off of my house. stephenson says he not only lost his job in the solar industry, but will have to replace part of his roof when he's forced to tear his panels down. he he'll be forced to do that five years out because otherwise he'll be paying higher utility bills than his neighbor. still, he says he's better off than those who financed their systems. sot: they will still have to pay for the solar array on top of their house on top of all of that. meanwhile across town, the p-u-c heard from solar customers, like reno city council woman naomi duerr. she

yesterday afternoon. alex cannito joins us from where the shooting happened with the latest developments. >>reporter: good morning. we are at smith bridge plaza and that is where major car well as a deadly officer- involved shooting across from the meadowood mall on south mccarran. to recap what happened coppa , around 5:00 p.m., there was a major car crash on this street but it wasn't until the officers were on scene that they received more phone calls from drivers involved in that major car crash. one of the drivers was acting erratically and we are told that he was cussing and had a weapon of some kind and the witnesses believed it may have been a nice. we are waiting on official details from investigators for what weapon he had, and if he had a weapon at all. we know police tell us that he interacted with officers and

good tuesday morning and welcome to the last half-hour of news 4 today. i'm samantha boatman. i'm bill frankmore. it is 6:30 on the 26th day of january. thanks for sticking around for the final half hour of the show. first, a car crash yesterday afternoon led to an officer-involved shooting and the death of one. alex cannito is live from where the shooting happened with the latest developments. >>reporter: good morning. we are at smith ridge plaza and you can see behind me that traffic is moving this morning. it happened around 11:00 when lanes were reopen from a major car crash and deadly officer- involved shooting. to talk about the order of events, we are told by reno police that at around 5:00 p.m. they got cause of a major crash on south mccarran boulevard the street from the meadowood mall. officers say that after they

the car crash, they received phone calls about a driver involved in the crash. people said he was acting erratically. some of the witnesses said he was cursing and had a weapon of some kind. the witnesses say it may have in a nice. we are waiting on details from investigators for what weapon he had, and if he had a weapon at all. they say the man did interact with police officers and at some point, that is when gunshots were fired and the man was pronounced dead on the scene. a gaming unit was on the scene. no gangs were involved. this was -- we are one department and have a regional gang unit. when there is a shooting, we are on the scene and we come together as law enforcement to make sure we have each other's
