3 (bill)3 >> we begin this morning with a developing story.... we are learning more about a car crash that closed fourth street west of keystone avenue...just before 11 last night.a reno fire battalion chief tells news 4 hat the car had crashed into a telephone pole at some point before it came to a stop.the woman driver had to be extricated from the car before being taken to renown.. where she is in critical condition. reno police say their was major damage to the roadway. 3 (("it was a rollover type of accident. we do have several power lines, power poles, fencing, curbing, sidwalk, retainer walls along the south side of the road that have been damaged"))

at one point .. more than 500 customers were without power due to the crash....and they are working to get power restored to the area. the cause of the crash is under investigation. 3 (samantha)>> now to an update we brought you yesterday on news 4....we now know the identity of a man killed in an officer- involved shooting near meadowood mall monday night. sparks police have identified him as 38- year- old sergio alvarado - morales. officers say it all started with a traffic incident involving four, possibly five vehicles. they say alvarado-morales was involved in the crash ...but they're not really sure what led up to the collision. officers also confirm alvardo- morales was armed with a knife and threatening to harm himself. one officer tried to subdue him...-- using a taser... but that didn't work, according to officers on scene. investigators say that's when a scuffle happened, turning deadly. police have not released certain details of the case, including how many shots were fired. 3 ((sot: its not about being secret, its about protecting the integrity of the investigation. sot: how come you're not releasing the names
