the shoot-out killed one suspect. 19-year-old tristan conte, and injured another who was flown to a hospital in unknown condition. the deputy shot is in good health and has been released from the hospital. two other suspects have been detained. >> we have all the subjects accounted for, one of the subjected admitted there were four of them in the vehicle. >> and we are told the captured suspects are juveniles who are currently at the detention center in reno. the carson city sheriff's office will lead the death investigation. a man hunt is underway for two suspects possibly connected to a murder case in south lake tahoe according to the el dorado investigator. they are being sought by authorities in fairfield and vallejo, california as well as

both suspects are considered armed and dangerous. two other men have been arrested on suspicion of taking part in the murder. 40-year-old dennis wright jr. died after being shot during a drug deal there in january. and bartenders are behind bars after allegedly selling cocaine to patrons. juan pablo lepe from rookie and nicholas weber from the village pub have been arrested on multiple drug charges. washoe detectives with the all threats all crimes unit said they were successful in buying cocaine during their undercover operation. as a result of that operation, atac seized around nine grams of cocaine in one of the suspect's cars. a reno man was convicted by a federal jury today after kidnapping two california teens. a boy and a girl, and

engage in illegal sex. 50-year-old john thomas abrams was convicted on multiple charges. he faces a minimum of 30 years in prison. there is new information tonight on a recent decision impacting solar rooftop customers. we are learning the decision by the utilities commission will impact some institutions including reno and the washoe county school district. the anticipated energy savings are not what was originally thought. there is new math in calculating how long it will take to recoop the investments. reno state council member naomi duer says they are affected by the net metering decisions. >> we were expecting a savings of 1.6 million to $3 million over the life of the system. looks like this may cut our

nothing around lake tahoe. great sunshine and clouds. it was a mix day. and this rain is not doing much. for most portions of i-5. 71 was the high today. the average was 54. 72 was the record for today. we almost got there and tied it. that was set back in 1908 when we hit it on this day. almost 60 at elko. upper 60s across most of the valley. and some places did get to 70. so, right now, we have temperatures that are verer bearable. still low 60s across the board here. except for 57, carson city. 54 up at stead. the wind speeds are 15 to 20 miles an hour. that will be with us tonight. some gusts will be as high as 25 or 30 because of the frontal boundary. but it is a dry front. tomorrow will be cooler as will be sunday. but, it will still be nice.

road to know where. tonight, one of our viewers has a question about a sidewalk to nowhere. lucy wrote in to ask about a sidewalk that comes to an end at galleria parkway. people run, push strollers on it. it ends in the dirt. why didn't it go no the next intersection? here is a picture of the sidewalk we are talking about. it runs along galleria parkway. this is near los altos parkway. he would only say developers were putting in certain infrastructure like sidewalks, curbs, gutters as they develop property. that property is not fully developed yet which may explain why the sidewalk is not finished. i checked around and reached out to one developer in that area. they told me they will look into this and get back to us next week. i should have more information on this then.

isn't bad, but the world health organization recommends you only have six teaspoons of sugar a day. the recent report shows your starbucks drink could have as many as 25-teaspoons of sugar in it. that is more than three times your daily allowance. >> people don't even categorize coffee as a food. >> reporter: we all know soda is full of sugar too. but dietitian karen fisher says juice is even worse. she calls it "liquid diabetes" and says one glass of orange juice has the sugar equivalent of three whole oranges. >> a lot of foods we don't think of as sweet have the added sugars. >> reporter: and not all sugars are created equal. >> added sugars, just a pure simple sugar, don't need any digestion. they will enter right into our bloodstream.
