best picture went to spotlight. and local news county community of sparks and many people across the state are mourning the loss of sen. debbie smith she died this month after battling brain cancer. the community came together to celebrate her life. melissa matheny reports. it was an emotional memorial today. many tears and heart wrenching moments as friends and family spoke of her life and how she touched the lives of so many people.>> her life cut short too mac soon.>> reporter: the gym at sparks high school was packed. friends, family, and colleague spoke of her brentwood a call -- brilliant political career. in toto, eight people took to the podium to speak of sen. smith's life and career. that included lauren denison, a family friend and an of rihanna denison.

truckee police crews and found the body of a second man whose canoe capsized on donner lake friday night. officials found lucas johnson's body in about 60 feet of water this afternoon at the northeast quarter of the lake near where they believe the canoe capsized. he was from auburn. a rescue team found the body of a second man yesterday in 15 feet of water. he has been identified as joshua patterns and. -- batterson. officials do not believe they were wearing like that's. the water in the lake was 37 degrees this weekend. hard to believe we only have one day left of february. it looks like beautiful weather tomorrow. our meteorologist cassie wilson is in the weather center.>> it was a beautiful weekend and it will continue to stay that way as we enter march but not for long. take a look at this viewer photo.

those are my favorite. last night, that wind smooth them out. they looked like ufos. we didn't see too much wind. our sky has been fairly clear. we take a look at doppler radar, we are not going to pick up too much tonight except for the storm in the northeastern portion of the state. it is been hanging around and is transitioning to snowy conditions. not too much to worry about. we are watching high-pressure as a begins to fade away and this huge low will keep pumping systems into the pacific northwest and into our skies for the beginning of march. we have a big change on the way in our weather pattern. right now, 49 degrees, westerly winds at 7 miles an hour. relative humidity at 36. quite warm in the central portion of the state. 50 degrees in fearnley, 41 in carson city, dropping below freezing in truckee at 30.
