live this is kron 4 news @ 5:30 p.m. at 530 concerns over homelessness will leave the new temporary trance bay terminal which you see here, with a public restroom. officials tell kron 4 if the word about the area becoming an in camera for people who were homeless. fact the coalition on melissa said the number of people on the street is continuing to grow in san francisco. christine conley is looking at this issue researching the entire thing she's here to tell us where the city stands. >> this city has an official count on the number of homeless and it shows the numbers are decreasing. let's roll video will show you those numbers here. the number of homeless counted 2009 was 6500 in 2002 it was 8600 that's a 25% lower. the number of homeless just on the street and the count shows that was reduced by 40%. the

coalition on homelessness see the numbers are much higher and the city needs to do more. take a listen. >> would of protest that the agency probably more than half of those people in the city were counted. >> and organizer with the coalition on homelessness and san francisco which is an advocacy group group. he said the number of homeless in the city is more like 40 to 20,000. he also said the mayor needs to do a lot more to fix the problem. >> i think from the administration's there's more focus on is that around homelessness and great natural solutions. family shelters you have to wait a week to two weeks to get shelter bed for your family, now were looking at a weight of nine months. >> bob said he believes the cash program has not worked in its core of a shell game that a solution on homelessness. >> it was impossible proposition it could afford a midlife all lot harder for a great number of homeless people
