up to $300 back via promotion cards. at&t. rethink possible. live this is kron 4 news @ 5:30 p.m. at 5:30 p.m. rally underway in oakland today as several community groups demand that ec transit reserves alameda and contra costa find enough money to restore full service for its writers in the two counties. alameda and contra costa are served by ac transit and they're dealing with budget cuts as are most of the transit agencies throughout the bay area. we'll get more on that rally coming up in just a moment. in the meantime in san francisco some concerned citizens are speaking out against a proposed plan by muni. this was a scene from today from the news conference held by the group called save unique. today the group said it is against the proposed central subway station. many

whats to build the station to help alleviate traffic and congestion near san francisco chinatown. >> it's a waste of money for the people of san francisco who will not improve service and a fact make transit service on muni probably worse if this thing is actually constructed. >> muni said it worked of several ideas to alleviate congestion and chinatown without building of new subway system but m.t.a. officials say they have reviewed the ideas already and they would not to work. officials admit they are open to considering ideas by muni on other issues. it another way bay area transit companies could be losing money as loopholes and the clipper card system that allow users to go for a long ride without paying the full fare. stanley roberts shows us the problem in today's edition of people behaving badly.

just recently completed a section of arbitration with its labor union. ac transit has managed to come out of arbitration was an agreement that said its workers will pay for some of their health-care benefits and in return ac transit riders will be able to continue taking the bus on the weekend. the rally said it's a bittersweet victory. >> this is a victory of sorts. the sacrifice of some of those who could least afford it. the union numbers are having their health premiums raised, having to pay exorbitant amounts where it wasn't before, they're having to sacrifice some of their earnings in order to provide and keep service at a certain level. they feel like we feel that if we decimate the bus service here, this city will claim to a halt. >> as these folks are gathered here the mayor of richmond is speaking to

24 hours and some apparent missile launch was spotted in southern california we still don't know exactly what it was or who was responsible. there is no missing at these pictures were taken from a television station helicopter at sunset. they show a fiery red trail heading into the sky. the question is to
