throwing snowballs at each other right now. apparently they're throwing snowballs at us, that's where you're going have to put unchains from blue canyon all the way to truckee that will make it so it's a very slow driving. we have video we want to show you of the driver earlier today. we saw snow on the ground at cold facts which is 50 mi. outside of sacramento. then just 50 minutes later, we saw snow blanketing the ground and actually on the trees. that started to change at 4,000 ft., we saw snow plows on the road and the snow started coming down very quickly. once we got to the exit there, that's where we saw our first been out. that was a truck that had to be

building along with the mountaintop. sledding was actually the reward for the very few who braved the hike up. it they wanted to witness one of the few moments of winter snow that occur in the bay area. snow was falling at the 3,000 ft. level by late afternoon. it makes for beautiful pictures. and no escape for campers at the beach state park in santa cruz county. as rob reports, the weather is blamed for toppling several trees in the camp ground which is now closed. >>rob: moderate to heavy rain across much of santa cruz county. it is taking its toll the trees. this is a 60 ft. monterey pine tree very shallow rooted. the combination of saturated and fairly high winds to camp out here remains close after couple of the trees came down on thursday it landed on a couple of motor homes.

been climbing and this week they hit prices they haven't seen in three years. kron 4 daniel looked into some prices today and the reason for the increased >>reporter:. this gas station is an example of how high prices have jumped. prices of been steadily climbing for eight weeks straight out. aaa listed next san francisco is average at three 59 gal.. yesterday was 2¢ less than a week ago was 10¢ less than today. it's been blamed on the situation in the middle east because a steady flow of oil is on certain of the turmoil continues to rise. some drivers said there open for the best out, and gas prices. >> i just hope this thing in egypt to blows over little bit and it's not going to be that impact fall. >>reporter: this is a high we haven't seen since october 2008. we could see prices to continue declining.to climb.
