>>live, from the bay area's news station, this is kron4 news at 6:00 >>pam: right now at 6:00, kron 4 is live in san bruno where you see people have gathered to honor those affected by the mass of gas line explosion that took place six months ago. they are there to remember the event which devastated so many lives. the last time are a giant fireball erupted in the middle of a neighborhood. this killed eight people and injured dozens of others and destroying nearly 40 homes. investigators say the explosion was caused by a a gas pressure that the pipe cannot handle new video of the explosion released by the ntsb. it shows the tense moments just after the pipeline exploded. kron 4

francisco police officers that were caught and cannot. -several cases in which these officers were involved have not been dropped. so far 57 cases have been dismissed. seven officers and a sergeant are facing federal and local investigations for reading rooms without warrants at a downtown hotel. prosecutors say, they're looking into whether more officers could be involved in all of this. most of the people what their cases dismissed are actually in custody. they will be released. christine went to court today, did any of the defendants show up in court today? >>christine: know because they wanted to get this done so quickly, so there just wasn't enough time. some of the lawyers did show up. just a moment ago we did get this from the defender's office which tells us all the types of cases that were dismissed today. the show you that. most of them were drugs cases, sales in

possession. there were also some burglary, theft and robbery cases. a total five of those. grand theft of three cases. there were other cases like gun possession, a case involving that as well. officials say there no homicides among the cases that were dismissed. >>pam: of course the investigation is unfolding japanese idea on how many more cases will be dismissed? >>christine: that's the million-dollar question. the defenders and this could be the tip of the iceberg. he does ask the district attorney for items involving the detectives. >> this could be a lot of cases potentially. we handle about 6000 drug cases a year. i would expect were going to have to review all those cases to determine whether the officers were involved and whether there was a pattern on practice

residents of a neighborhood in san as they are frustrated with the city of san jose for the lack of response to our problem which seems to be growing. it it all has to do with what's happening at a small stretch of land sec indicated on a map, near the intersection of communication hill boulevard. we sent stanley roberts to take a look at the problem in this edition of people behaving badly. >stanley: you're looking at townhomes located at communication hill in san jose. this is a homeless encampment. no your eyes are not deceiving you, the encampment is literally right outside the front door to some of these homes. let's take a closer look at what's going on here. this encampment is full of trash and rotten food. they're close to a dozen shopping carts most full of trash. in this section they're four separate tent homes.

what i'm about to show you really left me speechless. i was met by this man his name is rumsfeld and he offered me a tour of the underpass. he was driving this u-haul that ran out of gas so he just left it there to give me a tour. under the overpass, you will find more trash. a lot more trash. plenty of disassembled bike parts. i spoke to a few residents who say there are fights in this encampment at night and a loose pit bull lives here. one homeowner told me she's afraid to leave her home to walk around the neighborhood because of the encampment. the neighbors say they just want the trash cleaned up but they say the city of san jose has been slow to respond. remember rumsin? it turns out the u-haul he was driving was five days over due when it was spotted by the owner. rumsin was forced by san jose police to give up the contents into
