80 is still closed at this hour. in the bay area, a terrible driving conditions as the storm ripped through. this is video of long sfo. here is a look at the south bay, also heavy rain pouring down earlier today. jacqueline bennett is here with us now, were getting a bit of a break from the storm at least in the immediate bay area. >>jacqueline: it was nasty up there this morning but yes, finally a break, lighter showers and isolated showers in the north bay. it is not even close to over yet. we will see more scattered showers activity tomorrow, as we head into sunday at powerful storms that to pack another punch to the bay area. the show you what's going on in the north bay. were seeing pop up showers and some are producing small scale like this one. it has a small area of more moderate rainfall. also near vallejo the same amount of rain and north of antioch. let's jump

down to the south bay where showers have largely cleared. just light rain at this hour. a water view picture of what's going on, you could see all the heavy rain pushing up towards the sierra. all of the yellow you see in your screen indicates the more moderate to heavy rainfall and pushing again to the east through sacramento and into the sierra. are very nasty conditions in the sierra which probably led to that nasty accident. we will talk more about that and a big storm sunday coming up. >>pam: thompson is live in santa rosa where a tornado touched down. >>kate: 20 to touch on this morning, it is still raining inhaling here now we could show you this and also clear the debris it used to be a 100 ft. building at sequoia landscaping in downtown santa rosa. you could see the twisted metal and wood that is now called up here

when the tornado went through of around 9:00 a.m.. we can also show you video from earlier in the day, which we will show you the forced from the wind of that went through, it took the building and tossed it into the street. the street had to be closed down while crews cleared of all of the debris out of the street. it also took down the power line in the phone lines in the neighborhood. the wind so strong action it took some of the metal from the building, tossing it down the street and into the neighbor's tree. that was about 20 yds up into their trade. there were people inside the building at the time the tornado hit, luckily, they were not hurt. back up your life, you could see the building that is still left standing, also suffering some damage. how the wind just opened at building up. that metal siding just ripping up with the force of those winds. the national weather service in the winds that came

amounts detected in the bay area and they're getting here through the jet stream. if that is wind and that wraps around the globe from west to east. by wednesday admitted to the islands, by friday today as expected and made landfall in california. there is no radiation above normal detected in los angeles because of the weather. the jet stream is further north than in normally is. in fact, in sacramento they have been detecting some radioactive particles in california that are very clearly from japan. the monitoring stations in san francisco, the amount they are detecting is not hazardous to human health and there's nothing to worry about. >>pam: the tokyo electric power co. has created a twitter account for its nuclear power plants which were damaged by the quake.
