>>jacqueline: could sunday morning to you we have dry weather this morning but that will change for this morning, a light rain headed our way into the bay area. it will be like what we had yesterday morning, a fairly weak system and rainfall amounts will be late. only a quarter of an inch at best in the north bay. cloudy skies at noon, a chance for light rain this afternoon and showers and into the evening. at 10:00 a.m., clubs just about anywhere when the rain still to the north of santa rosa. it does get closer about noon showing up in sonoma county. that's slowly pushes southbound through the day by 4:00 p.m. some rain showing up in the san francisco in marin county and napa county. , the storm tries to make it through marin county client with the

evening but it really becomes unglue, a lot the showers fall apart. things winding down by later tonight. highs in the mid to upper 50's and low 60s with cloudy skies and the chance for rain. the weather looks a lot better for next week and i will tell you more about that coming up later on. >>ysabel: 90 and down it is a good word used a lot of the bay area was so can rain for the past several days. jeff pierce at a look at all the damage in capitola. >>jeff: friday's storm once again inundated the neighborhood and a nearby mobile home park. if the water came from his broken culvert at the top of the park and repair crews that they had the upper hand when they arrived. >> their job was to keep the call for a clear but their best efforts were overwhelmed by the fierce rain. they had to abandon their equipment and seek higher ground. >>jeff: water rushed through when swept through downtown

and flooded local businesses, just a matter of inches that scared some while others were decimated. >> of one was ok, because they had a step. further down towards the center of town they were apparently very much under water. >>jeff: this jewelry shop was not at an elevation that might have saved him. >> our neighbor sandbagged but it was too late it's under 4 in. of water. that's when things were going down it was a foot higher. >> our focus is to get this call birds so it can carry water back to the pacific ocean. >>jeff: that the mobile home park capitola building inspector mark had to make decision on who could return whose homes were destroyed. >> yellow tag is limited access, red tag absolutely none.

>>jeff: is had little time to repair the culvert. we do have >> dry weather next week in her 20s the windowed fix things. >>jeff: in capitola, jeff pierce kron 4 news. >>marty: highway 1 remains open this morning after a landslide forced its closure in at least one evacuation mill valley. crews worked throughout the day saturday to try and stabilize the hillside clearing debris and also landau tart to prevent further slipping. sandbags will be used to hold down the chart to help the mud dry out. copper >>ysabel: there is a lot of these kinds of things happening around the bay. it a landslide sending a mass of older tumbling onto a car in san francisco. residents nearby could hear the landslide as it happened. kron 4 spoke with neighbors who said this was in the upper sunset neighborhood. >>reporter: 1 large boulder and another came tumbling down with a ton of debris.

you can see the empty hole left from a boulder that drop off the saudi hillside. to boulders fell on this car, one of them less than an inch away from another car. neighbors came out and snapped a these photos, while some are pretty shaken up. others say this isn't the first time this is happened. >> there were as much of a lesser rockslide that happened a couple weeks ago. this big guy live on the side of the hill, it's little alarm and ialarming. >>reporter: damage car has been towed out and all the rest of the cars parked on the street have been moved. crews have been moved a large boulder from this tree yet. in fact putting in these large concrete barriers that you can see just behind me, to prevent future rocks rolling down during the next big storm

lake tahoe area, highway 89 the road look open impassible compared to earlier this week. snow expected to fall today but not as heavy. temperatures will reach upper 30s in most areas. the chains are required and parts of interstate 80. so some people are reporting up to 600 in. for this season. >>marty: officials in japan are sang a measurement showing a huge increase in radiation levels at the nuclear plant, was a mistake. the rating showing water tested was 10 million times higher than normal and the coolest of one of the reactors. that force workers to evacuate the plant. officials with the electric company said the rating is not credible. the utility apologize for the accuracy, more water testing done to get another measure. officials admit there is radioactive water in all four of the reactors at the

complex. officials are now putting the death toll from the march 11th quake and tsunami and more than 10,600. some 16,000 people still missing. trees amounts of radiation have traveled as far as lost baggage. experts say it poses no health risks. iodine and xenon been detected at a monitoring station at the city's atomic testing museum. the managers said he certainly isotopes are from japan, they're not easily detected in nevada. secretary >>ysabel: of state hillary clinton described the u.s. decision to intervene in libya the humane thing to do. international air strikes have destroyed much of libya's air force and heavy weaponry as coalition military forces in proof the no-fly zone mandate to protect citizens. this is what has and in the damage

>>marty: to seek a quick look outside, what a difference from yesterday. yesterday we had a lot of strong wind up there and this time the cameras now bouncing around. >>ysabel: not going to be quite clear today. let's check in with our meteorologist. >>reporter: the sunday morning, we have more rain on the way today. the good news is the storm that's coming for today doesn't look too strong. by the time tomorrow rolls around, much nicer weather returning. cloudy skies, at noon, a chance for light rain into the afternoon hours. especially san francisco and points to the north. showers spreading to the south and east through the evening with temperatures into the upper 50s and low 60s. monday, how about mostly sunny skies and readings a little bit warmer. another storm does come away tuesday, the storm will stay to the north. it's an clouds for the bay area but all the

rain looks like it will be up to 40 recover. after that storm goes by the we really start to see some nice weather, sunshine, warm temperatures for wednesday, thursday and friday. with highs getting back into the mid-70s. it's going to feel nice by the end of the week. in this era, more snow expected today but the worst of it is over. we're going to see the chance for rain and snow and strong winds in the sierra today. snow levels will be around 5,000 ft.. just like the weather is improving here, the weather will get better for this year of monday and tuesday. warmer temperatures into the '40's. future cast, 10:00 a.m. clouds pretty much anywhere ahead of the system. there's the re north of santa rosa towards heels bergen clover deal. this move south by noon, some of that rain beginning to show up for santa rosa, petaluma and ford met west marin. the

warmer for wednesday, thursday and friday with highs making it into the low to mid-70s. >>marty: thank you brian, california's unemployment rate dropped just a little bit last month but it still remains one of the highest in the nation at 12.2%. millions of californians continue to look for work. >>ysabel: look and a job seeker do to separate themselves from the crowd? joining us this morning is carried she is a regional operations manager. this is a nationwide job placement. thank you for being with us. that i suppose we all get really excited about a drop in unemployment. how does the really look for your sitting? >> it looks better, were seeing growth in the finance industry, itt and data gathering. >>marty: tell us about where you continue to see job growth this year? >> or expecting to see

growth in the educational sectors as well as health- care and medical. as well we do expect hospitality and tourism to pick up this year. >>ysabel: the educational sector, they just end of these thousands of pink slips to teachers have come to talk about growth and jobs when they're telling them there's no jobs? >> a lot of the is happening in college, postgraduate type situations. not so much in the public sector. the government jobs are still lagging a little bit. >>marty: about in the bay area, what have we seen the job market here? >> or single uptick in finance and information technology as well as business and professional services. if we expect those to grow throughout 2011. >>ysabel: i'm hearing these are jobs that require a college degree at least? >> yes, in the current job market were finding our clients are really looking for top talent. if you look of the statistics, the

unemployment rate among college is significantly less than the national average. really still have and that education and degree is going to push ahead and give you an edge. >>marty: been your saying is not only are using the job market open up a little bit, but you're seeing a better feeling among people who are hiring there's a sense of optimism? >> the feeling out there among job-seekers and clients is much more optimistic. worse in job growth which we weren't in this time last year. all lot more optimism to carry that and push it forward. >>ysabel: you're saying, the corporations are creating jobs. there is an opportunity. because they are more optimistic about the future economy? stay course in a temporary market, all large growth. that's generally a leading indicator in the economy. double digit percentage

growth this large growth. depending on the industry were seeing a significant amount of jobs available this year, were there were last year. >>marty: less about job hunting tips you off your clients? >> the number went to a good networking. a lot of people are working now by networking instead of using traditional methods. i would also say the focus on your skills, what may be transferable to other industries and sectors. if the industry you're working in is lagging far in the skills that are transferable and find a way to market yourself. >>ysabel: suggest to get added skills as well? >> absolutely. always a good idea to pick up additional skills and finisher degree. of course remember that temporary employment is often a great way to get a foot in the door at many large companies. as the

>>ysabel: the computer system for alaska airlines is back up and running today after failing as we can forcing the cancellation of more than 150 flights. it happened yesterday, when the system crashed. the others affected least 12,000 passengers, including five flights from sfo, half a dozen more delayed in oakland and one flight canceled. for will still be delays today though because of the backlog. >>marty: ahead will have more on the damage left behind behindbecause of the storms in california. >>marty: still a shade cloudy today but a nice look out there, no rain.

were overwhelmed by the fears rain saturday. downtown businesses were also flooded. the one up the street got nothing, the one next to us was ok because they have a staff. once brother down towards the center of town, were apparently very much under water. we were a little late, our neighbor sandbagged but by then we were under 4 in. of frame. the building inspector at the mobile home park had to quickly decide who could return before the what mobile homes to read tagged. in the north bay, about 2 ft. of water covered part of highway 121 and highway 12. if all told four lanes were blocked by the floodwaters, local authorities closed the road to of some traffic because a small back up but was eventually reopened. officials of san paulo continue to monitor six

homes. if quebec yards were washed away after a landslide from the recent storms. kron 4 spoke to one homeowner who decided to move out of the city of san paulo asia and yellow tags to three homes on saturday. that's because this area continues to slide downhill. in fact city inspectors say between friday and saturday, the backyard went down at least another two more feet perhaps more. with the help of church friends and neighbors, the walkers and their families are moving out. it you can see why, the backyard is gone. >> i'm still in denial i don't want to go. >>reporter: the soil engineers inspected the arts saturday, and determine the home is a longer safe to live in. >> walls are cracking inside. >>reporter: walker's backyard is sliding down to sandra's house. her backyard is covered by mud and debris. the city also yellow tag her house. heavy rains

triggered the slide on thursday of the six homes are affected on one street and hillcrest road. it three and yellow tag in one patio deck has been red tape. >> start to believe that. not knowing full come back tomorrow or the day after. >>reporter: she said it's hard to let it go but she knows it's time, she could hear her house cracked every time her backyard looks and down. all of the affected homes only have fire insurance. the insurance companies are saying they're not going to cover any of the damage, the homeowners are pretty much out of luck. now, they're hoping this city of san paulo will help them stabilize the hillside. in san paulo, kron 4 news. >>ysabel: turning to the

latest on the uprising in libya. nato's top decision maker meets today to expand efforts in the no-fly zone. officials want to include air strikes against libya in ground forces. although that might be occurring inadvertently. there are reports out of libya that the air and missile attacks had destroyed ground tanks. rebels of once again gain control of the oil town, a week ago. the rebels appeared defeated but the international air strikes have since tipped the balance away from gaddafi's military. also today defense secretary robert gates does not think libya is of vital interest for the u.s.. he does say the compancountry as pt of the area that is of vital interest to the u.s.. the night of violence and chaos in met by clashes of protesters and the

government. at least 55 people have been killed in anti-government protests just in the past week. troops are being deployed to calm the situation as the protest continued to sweep across the eastern nation. >>marty: japan utility officials our colleges and for what they say was an error in radiation readings at the nuclear plant. earlier reports of radioactivity in the water in the number two, they tested 10 million times higher than normal. that forced the evacuation of workers and delayed efforts to bring the complex under control. officials are not sure when the testing results from other water sample will be available. crew struggled to, contaminated water from four units of the plan. the safety agency said each unit could have hundreds of tons of radioactive water. >>ysabel: ahead, pop superstar pretty stairs is going to be in the bay area in a performance and not too

>>ysabel: were showing you more video of the damage from this week's class is where would side were a tree fell on top of the telephone poll on highway 84 yesterday. at as a result both lanes were closed. caltrans and pg&e crews were on the seen fixing up power lines. this part of the highway has since been reopened. in contra costa county, another landslide " part of the road again. a lot of trees down in the bay area. this slid down the hill on the canyon road. it take boulders with it.
