landings, no one was seriously injured. they're examining the piece of the fuselages as well as the flight quarters. the associated press found records that cracks were replaced a year ago on that same plane. the plane is 15 years old and show the least eight instances of cracking in the air crash frame. are also hearing more from the passengers on board. >> i thought we were going down, i really did it seem like we're dropping. prefabs. unreel, i do and as long prayer >> it flashed through my mind, is this what it's like to die? >> it was a scary experience but we got through it. i'm glad to be here, home with my family. >>marty: official say it's not uncommon for fuselage cracks to be found during inspection of planes that are that age especially during scheduled maintenance checks. >>ysabel: there's been a nationwide domino effect

following this incident, southwest expects to cancel thousands more flights today. that caused a number of hold ups of course here at bay area airports and for passengers. kron 4 got all lin froreports. >>reporter: take a look at the you read cancellations, about 30 cancellations and a lot of folks are still stuck in the bay area and cannot in another flight out of the area. it was a difficult day for some passengers at the southwest terminal. >> a little bit stressed out and frustrated >>reporter: some flights were canceled and many more delayed up to two hours. his family's vacation to new mexico got off to a rocky start. their flight was canceled and the only flight they could get was to phoenix arizona. the plan now was to fly to phoenix and drive to new mexico. >> we thought would be there by the afternoon, now were

had a great day with no signs of the elbow problems that kept him out for the first couple of weeks. barry is expected to make his debut against the dodgers today. he was in a car accident wednesday night and said he's doing just fine. >>ysabel: the giants fan who was beaten into a medically induced coma thursday night continues to fight for his life this morning. police still looking for the two suspects they believe were behind the attack on brian. he is a giants fan from santa cruz that was attacked in the dodger stadium. suspects were apparently looking for trouble, they're described as latino men in their late teens or early 20s. rye and a paramedic and father to remains in critical condition. kron 4 nicole spoke with his co- workers and shows us what they are doing help. >> he's a good pair met and a good friend and a great father. it's a senseless random act of violence it should've happened.
