the single engine plane crashed sunday taking the life of its pilot 73 year- old richard manuel sam the tail. today crews focused on getting the plane at of the money shore where it landed before the plane could be removed, and environmental cleaning crews had absorbent one materials to prevent any more fuel and oils of spilling into the water. the task of removing the plane was difficult and time-consuming. you could see some of the process of moving the plane up this hill and away from the shore. this grain had to be used to haul the plane out piece by piece. all the pieces of plane that recovered or placed on this flat bed to be hauled to a sacramento facility where federal aviation officials will look to the wreckage and determine what happened. the process of finding out what caused the crash could take weeks or even months. in alameda, kron 4 news. >>catherine: of hawaii based marine from california was killed over the weekend while supporting combat operations in afghanistan. corporate harry lieu of santa clara died on sunday.

slumping. >>live, from the bay area's news station, this is kron4 news at 6:00. >>catherine: a nationwide inspection of all boeing 737. this is after of it: in the roof of the southwest plane friday night. boeing has said all their 737 should be checked for metal fatigue. the faa is expected to warm off for an emergency tomorrow that will affect 175 planes over the world. a year were not registered in the u.s. and most of those are operated by southwest. our team coverage begins with kate thompson portia's lot of the oakland airport with a look at the investigation. >>kate: some very good news for people who are holding tickets to get on southwest planes tomorrow. hopefully they will not deal with any cancellations. the airline said everything should be completely back to more normal. but questions remain about safety on the planes. southwest said they have

done and completed many of the inspections. what had been done in the past which may have led to this problem. they found three more planes with cracks similar to the ones that may have been part of the reason why five-foot hole course raw plane last week. the airline grounded 79 of its boeing 7374 inspection and expects to complete all inspections by late tuesday. the three planes found with this of service cracks will undergo further testing and repairs before the planes are put back into service. today boeing issued a service bulletin to check the riveted lap joint which runs above the midsection of the plane for any cracks. previously these rivets were not extensively tested because they were not believed to be susceptible to the teeth. the plane that ripped open on friday had undergone a complete have you check last year in march 2010. the inspection found 10 cracks in the plane's frame and another 11 cracks in the clips that hold the
