mixture of clouds and sunshine. we do have a warm off on the way i will let you know when to expect that coming up. >>isabel: the top of the news, the budget battle on capitol hill, just a taste of what is to come. public wants to eliminate money for health care. are going have more from washington, while the fight for health care continues to lack is being felt in the bay area. people hit by company downsizing, loss of insurance are now access to health care at all. thousands more people expected to come out for free medical care. i seen that has been repeated around the country according to organizers. the nonprofit group remote area medical offers medical for the underinsured or uninsured. 64 percent of its services are now provided in the u.s.. it open was no different the lines were long and so was the way. some people lined up 24 hours early to take advantage of dental

cleanings, i exams and other services. kron 4 nicole has there stories. >>reporter: inside this massive free health care clinics hundreds of people are waiting to get the services they need to. you can see all these people lined up at several stations scattered throughout this free clinic. i spoke with someone waiting hours. almost up to 16 hours. some said they spent the night just to get the health-care services they wanted. for the most part they say all getting this medical attention is well worth the wait. >> it's a blessing my job as an have dental insurance and more. >> we just wanted to go back call, but at the end it's worth it. if the free services are a lot of help. >> i got my teeth cleaned if we went to the dentist it would cost way more money than just coming here. >> not many people get this opportunity, people can vote with their kids, a tense basically a camp out.

>>reporter: lot of the people i talked with said they came prepared for a long wait. many brought their own bottled water, food, their own folding chairs while waiting outside as well as gloves to keep warm. even their own blankets to sleep that night. some say they brought cards, games and books to keep themselves occupied for such a long way. in oakland, nicole kron 4 news. >>isabel: some 3000 doctors, dentists, optometrist and medical assistance volunteered to help the dust of a shortage of optometrists and ophthalmologists. tarascan to register online. if the clinic goes from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for tuesday. police in oakland continue to look for two men suspected of shooting and killing a restaurant owner. he was gunned down early friday morning in what police say was a botched robbery. he was operating his restaurant on

international boulevard. he was attacked. our rally in town hall meeting was held saturday, city leaders at going what is a common refrain. >> in the next few weeks we need to come together, we need to find who did this and we need to deal with the short term and long term. we are moving forward and then this happens. i think knowing him he would say we just need to keep going. >> it's one of those crimes that can't go unsolved. we have to do our job and with these people away. >>isabel: here is kron 4, he has more on the peace walk that was held this weekend. >>reporter: about 100 people marched down international boulevard in oakland to this restaurant here to call for an end to violence. it was read here that two people killed the owner pays dues,

and hospitals for abortions. groups like planned parenthood receives funding but specifically for other women's health services. the cancer screenings, hiv test and perhaps years. the issue is whether that money should be struck which would mean a $300 million loss for planned parenthood and other women's health care centers. add to that with the group is calling misinformation from republicans. >> if you want an abortion you put a planned parenthood and that's well over 90 percent of the planned parenthood does. >>reporter: false as planned parenthood, they say 3 percent of their services involving abortions, 97 percent is for women services. provides 1 million cervical cancer screenings a year, 830,000 breast exams and nearly 4 million tests and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases. republicans argued the money is fungible, that of planned parenthood receives

>>isabel: in oakland, this weekend there is a huge turnout for free health care. that is what the government was talking about over the weekend. republicans wanting to pull all the funding through the health-care bill. if the president's fighting back of course. meanwhile lot of people and downsize, lost their insurance or have no access to health care, have turned up for this very free health clinic. if something that is being replicated all the run the country. this is an organization trying to serve people where they have not been getting any help. nicole has this report. >>reporter: here inside this mass of free health care clinic hundreds of people are waiting to get the services they need. you can see all these people lined up at several stations scattered throughout the free clinic. i spoke with some what been waiting hours. some say up to 16

hours, some even spend the night just to get the services they needed. for the most part they all say getting medical attention is well worth the wait. >> it's a blessing my job doesn't have dental insurance anymore. >> we were running to go back, but at the end it's worth it these free services, they are a lot of help. >> i got my teeth cleaned if i went to the dentist was costed way more money than just coming here >> and not that many people took this opportunity, everything for free, people cannot their kids, tennis is a camp out. >> a lot of the people i talked with said the team prepared for an incredibly long way. many brought their own bottled water, food some even brought their own folding chairs waiting outside as well as close to keep warm. even their own blankets to sleep with. some say they brought cards, games and books. all to keep themselves occupied for such a long way. in oakland, nicole kron 4 news.
