1:30 p.m. and could face the death penalty for multiple murders. authorities say they're looking into the possibility that naso may be responsible for other murders across the country. authorities in new york city looking at him for the possible -- initial murders in connection with those murders. the similarities are that joseph victims in california each have the same first and last initial, that is the same thing that happened in upstate new york in the early '70s with three young women. the authorities in new york state this point they did not have any evidence connecting joseph to those murders. reporting live in san or file, kron 4 news. >>pam: and task force will be contacting cold case detectives all across the country to see if any of their open investigations could be linked to joseph. kron 4 marin looks at some of the bay area's unsolved mysteries.

>>maureen: 18 year-old college student kristin one missing three weeks after arriving in the bay area where she came to study photography. she was last seen in june of 1997 as she was leaving her summer job at the galleria in san francisco. if search dogs followed a first chanccents to land's end. it's been 15 years since of the one missing from the software company. she was working late in october of 1996, she didn't turn up for work the next day but her car was later found in san carlos unlocked with turkeys in the ignition. her disappearance remains a mystery. in 1989, 13 year-old eileen was last seen walking from school to the dublin ice rink. she never turned up and none of the tips that came and said she went missing have panned out. 19 year-old pamela was found strangled and dumped on the trail and mount

in 1993 and the other in 1994. if it was last year in april when parole officers searched his house and found evidence linking him, they say it to the cold case murders. >> this case was considered unsolved until joseph was arrested in nevada people the 13th 2010 by investigators from the novato department, and nevada department of safety. the coral and probation division. it's during the rest investigators found items by joseph naso had implicated him and multiple murders of young women. if an examination of the items seized, along with the results of a forensic analysis from the contra costa county sheriff's criminalistics laboratory, led marin investigators to connect joseph naso to the death of one women. in the

was dumped here on donner street near engalls. including this pile which weighs approximately 12 t. it appears this was the work of more than one person because of the randomness of the trash dumped here. one pile was hazardous roofing material and the other pile consisted of things like a motorcycle helmet. one wallet i found a name and address on a prescription label dating back to february of 2007. this pile was so large several city dump trucks had to be rerouted from other work sites around the city to help remove the trash. all at the cost to san francisco taxpayers. san francisco district attorney's office along with other city agencies are investigating this illegal dump site. this time however, investigators may have caught a break. a video camera may have captured illegal dumpers in action. in san francisco, stanley roberts kron 4 news.
