police officers were shot in the line of duty tuesday night, one was killed. it happened during a traffic stop. the officer was killed this jonathan schmitz. he was interviewed after saving the life of a baby and not long ago. he leaves behind a wife and three children. the suspect has been arrested. one person injured in a shooting in high school in central florida. police found a gun and arrested three young men. students say they heard fighting before a shot was fired. the condition of the man who shot has not been released. the scene last night after a woman and upset with the father for children packed all four children into her minivan and drove into the frigid hudson river. she and three of the children died, her 10 year-old son managed to roll down a window and escaped. he swam away, a passer-by took him to police to report a domestic dispute. a tennessee woman

to big stories, bonds guilty of obstructing justice, kron 4 analyzes what that means for his future in what the jury could not agree on. new details about suspected killer joseph naso. from his court appearance to his life across the country and even his ex-wife, kron 4 has everything will cover. >>terisa: the first time were seeing the alleged serial killer in court. that story ahead. >>haazig: woman connected to joseph naso and the reason the fbi recently contacted her about the murder charges against him. coming up at kron 4 news at 6:00. track >>kate: in a serial killer, joseph live in many neighborhoods around the bay area, this is just one home

he lived in in the early '80s. >>live, from the bay area's news station, this is kron4 news at 6:00. >>pam: barry bonds found guilty of obstructing justice. but the verdict came down today after a 12 day trial and almost four full days of jury deliberation. that was the only account they could agree on. a mistrial was declared on the other three counts which accused bonds of lying to a grand jury when he denied that he knowingly use steroids and human growth . hormone. other options include only about two years in prison or even house arrest. bonds and his legal team are scheduled for hearing on may 20th. federal prosecutors and they just as to permit have to decide whether to retrial him on the unresolved counts. kron 4 has complete coverage. our other big story of the day

as suspected serial killer joseph naso went before judge today. kron 4 about his ex-wife and we ended covered where he lived in the bay area and across the country. our team coverage starts with theresa with what happened in court today. >>terisa: joseph naso was locked up here at the marin county jail but earlier he was in court. take a look to the video, you could see what it's like to be in the court room where the 77 year-old alleged serial killer made his first appearance. both the district attorney did not want the cameras rolling but the judge ruled the public have the right to see him in court. clearly did not want to be on kirov, look as he tries to cover up his face with this jail issue uniform. most of the time kept his head down but a few times he looked up as the judge read off the charges, four counts of murder he is a nevada residents but is accused of killing four women, two from the bay area, one person from contra

costa county and one person from iran. he's also under investigation by at there multiple agencies and is being looked at for possibly after cold cases. bail was denied for joseph naso so he will remain in custody at the marin county jail until april 27th. that is the day for his next hearing. reporting live, kron 4 news. >>pam: kron 4 caught up with his ex-wife lives in the bay area. this is did you offer as she left her apartment today. she did not want to talk on camera and kron 4 discovered why she has been contacted by the fbi. >>haazig:, by judith naso on the murder charges against her ex-husband. last july, the fbi told her not to talk. 73 year-old judith appeared visibly shaken up the fact her ex-husband has been arrested and accused of killing four women. she told me off-camera the two were

live outside the federal courthouse. >>dan: a wild day, a 1:30 p.m. we were notified there is a verdict, 10 minutes later we were told there was no verdict. we all came in at the court room and found out there was a miscommunication that the jury had reached a deadlock on three counts. they had reached a verdict on one but then the judge inquired in the found out they couldn't take any more time, they used all the time they had- and they're not going to reach a verdict on three counts. if the top agthe judge n in by 230. after touring have days of deliberation, i jury announced they were hopelessly deadlocked on three perjury counts. they found a home run came guilty of obstruction of justice for being evasive and misleading during his grand jury testimony. it was a lack of a guilty verdict on the other charges that the
