luther king boulevard. >> the suspect who struck the victim with a gun and pistol whipped him, after that the suspect torched the victims' property. in that case, the victim was taken to the medical center where he was being treated. to that matter still under investigation. >>pam: police say both victims are homeless and believe they knew their assailants. in other news, up possible ban on circumcisions in the city of san francisco. today san francisco resident turned in signatures that he gathered to place on the ballot in november. he needed 7168 signatures, the city says he will know if you reach that goal within 30 days. the measure would make it illegal to circumcise anyone under the age of 18. oakland officials are moving forward with plans for a 30 gang injunction. that's even as the court battle after

another proposed injunction continues. the gang been targeted has not been identified but the city is currently seeking a similar injunction against 40 alleged gang members in the fruitvale neighborhood. in san bruno, a new fund to help the city rebuild after last year's pipeline explosion. pg&e has put $12 million to start the account to cover costs associated with the september class. he will recall that last killed eight people and destroyed 38 homes. the trust fund will be administered by a third party and it will cover expenses already paid for by insurance or other sources. in oakland the city is kicking off a pothole blitz. repairing roads all across town. this will be a four week operation, the crews will focus on a specific part of town for a week and move on to a different section of town. this is the first week in the crews were focused on the telegraph corridor. it will move on to central town

next week. in santa clara, the board of supervisors this morning approved an ordinance that bans plastic baits and the single used paperbacks. the ban will affect 56 retailers and take effect on january 1st. checking traffic in san francisco, the james lick top of your screen back up badly there. it had traffic on 80, now looking at the golden gate bridge and medium speeds at north and south down. it will be right back. hey marcel, watch this!

social networking giant launched deals on facebook. it's an on-line coupons service that gives consumers discounts and deals on everything from meals to water sports. it's a similar concept to other popular online coupon companies like group on and living social. san francisco is one of five u.s. cities where facebook is testing the service. the discounts vary but you can get more than 50% off. facebook has partnered with 11 on line coupon companies when you click on facebook deal, many of them are provided by one of those companies. it's like one-stop shopping for online discounts. san francisco based zozi is one of the company's working with facebook. the ceo told me he's very excited about reaching hundreds of millions of people and said it's hard to say no to facebook. if you sign up you can get deal updates on e-mail a notification on facebook. if your friends like a deal you will see that on your news feed. you can also click on the deals tab on facebook homepage and that will take you to all

in her community. police are investigating a murder that left one of for friends dead after a monday night shooting. they arrested 30 year-old captain at his home just after noon today. he is suspected in the deadly shooting of a 2200 block of kind of way monday evening. people hunin the neighborhood told us today they're fed up of the violence. he talked with one woman who said she's packing up and leaving. >>j.r. stone: she said she is scared to live here. you can see in the distance some people have come out to stop the violence. this is the second they had a rally like this in the past few weeks. you're about to meet a woman i talked with this afternoon who said she is moving because of her kids and because of poor worry for her kids. >> for days, and i cannot wait. so >>j.r. stone: viet is counting down the days until she leaves the city with her

happened monday the outside sweet jimmy's restaurant near jack london square. if two men were killed. the restaurant manager released this statement and it reads? on behalf of sweet jimmy's restaurant we want to extend our condolences to all of the families and friends of the victims involved in the tragic shooting incident. the perpetrators were trying to rob somebody outside, the people outside burst into our restaurants seeking refuge from the gunman. the gunman followed sprang several rounds and wounding in killing several innocent people. >> we have been on the story, today he spoke with investigators about the alleged robbery attempt. >>haazig: one thing is not adding up that's how a police source close to the investigation describes a recent multiple shooting killing two people and wounding four others here at sweet jimmy's restaurant on broadway at oakland's

jack london square early monday. this is video recorded at the scene. police investigators are looking into an attempted robbery happening outside sweet jimmy's. that spilled over into the restaurant with the shooter followed the victims inside. oakland police say in order for that theory to work the attempted robbery victims need to come forward. at this time investigators say no one has done so adding it is not clear that any of the shooting victims were robbery. also not working with this theory is the fact that the shooter pulled the trigger on people sitting restaurant firing an assault rifle indiscriminately according to investigators. oakland police say an attempted robbery outside here is one of several have happened before the shootings occurred. up as a motive for what happened here. in oakland, kron 4 news. spell with, year-old the old

>>gabe: if bill 28 becomes law it will really give the handsfree law some sharp teeth. if a person is cited twice for handsfree violation they will have a point added to there driving record and every time being cited after the second offense will mean another point on the license. the gloves are coming off, now were talking points on drivers' records that's hundreds of dollars for traffic school to get a point removed. the price of auto insurance goes way up the points on the record. nowadays a lot of employers won't hire people with points on there driving record. the fines for the hands free and texting while driving law will double with court fees the total price for first violations will be $160. $210 dollars for the second violation. one other change, the whole handsfree law would also apply to people riding bicycles in california. however the fines are lowered if someone is cited for this while on a bike in no points would be added to the driving records. the bill will go to the assembly for

consideration, if approved it moves up to the governor who could sign it into law. these new increased penalties could be of reality within a matter of days or weeks. gabe slate, kron 4 news. >> now, here is stanley roberts, with some people behaving badly. >>stanley: this driver behind the wheel of his car in marin is on his cellphone. normally the story would end here, except i'm not alone. this officer of the california highway patrol and he's flagging down the driver to chat with him. finding cellphone violators is so easy that all a officer has to do is stand on the street and flag the driver down. this driver was pulled over for texting behind the wheel. as the officers stood next to the car and watched. this driver was also seen texting behind the wheel. again while the officer simply stood there and watched. with the current fines the way they are i often wonder if the fines

were increased would it change the habits? i talked to a couple of drivers that were pulled over. >> i think it will, once they see the fines are going up they would consider it twice before talking on the phone while driving. >> i'd expect it would once they get cited for. >> i'm definitely going to stop now. >>stanley: the fact is the fines don't seem to deter many drivers like this driver who is on the phone while the officer watches. it turns out this is her second ticket, the first cost her $150 that $20 for the fine and the rest in court fees. the second ticket will cost her $50 as a base and in court fees it will be over $300. in marin county, stanley roberts kron 4 news. >>pam: thousands of gamers may have had their deb credit-card hack. someone attend a lot of personal
