[music] >> get away from the smoke it will kill you. >> a rushed to safety after a semi truck slammed into an amtrak train near reno, you can see how bad the scene was as cars burned and black smoke filled the sky. two people were killed in this accident the train was headed to emeryville, where alive at the amtrak station right now with the latest. >> a horrible story, the train was due in here about a little after 4:00 p.m. this afternoon. it is not coming in, it will not be coming the people aboard the train will be transferred to a bus in sacramento those that were not injured, and then the train will probably not get in until later this evening. let me show you some video of the crash and tell you more about this. it happened about the 11:20 a.m., it was an amtrak train

that left chicago, it was coming off lease in emeryville. at 11:20 a.m., it was east of reno, a semi truck slammed into the side of the train. for the driver of the semi was killed, plus there was one person aboard the train that was killed. at the time there were 204 passengers and 14 crew members, who were told the there are at least 20 other passengers that were injured, those that were not injured, are due to come to emeryville, they will be transported to sacramento from marino, and then they will be put on a train and taken into this location as they were supposed to be originally. but a horrible incident again, authorities are still looking into it, they are investigating this, again they are not saying that this was an accident. they said that the smi drove into this side of the moving train. we will have to find out about that as the

investigators bennett, we will also want to know the identities of those that perished, and the injury list. we will have more on kron4 news at 6:00 p.m.. >> the mother of the young man at the heart of the saggy pants controversy team up with the naacp and other activists today, the group held a news conference to discuss what happened to deshon marmen and what did on the airline to do in response. deshon marmen is the young man that was arrested involving an incident following the saggy pants that he was wearing of trying to board a u.s. airways flight to go back to college he was arrested and spent the night in jail, this is video of the incident recorded by another passenger. teresa estacio reports that mormon deshon marmen--and his family deserve an apology especially since another video has surfaced showing a man that was scantily clad dressed more on at the

airline. >> members of the naacp, community activist and a mother of deshon marmen, the young man that was arrested following an incident on u.s. airways involving his saggy pants are demanding action from the airlines. >> this young man was profiled, he has been a victim of racial injustice, and u.s. airways owes him and his mother an apology. >> they also believe the airline needs to conduct sensitivity training especially in light of this. this youtube video surfaced showing a man wearing women's undergarments flying on u.s. airways. they believe that allowing this man to dress like this and fly and not allowing deshon marmen to fly shows a bias. >> we contend that what is good for the goose is good for the gander, if deshon marmen was to be accosted

oklahoma counties. wildfires in south georgia and north florida can now be seen from space. this is a satellite photograph taken from nasa, you can see the smoke covering over the atlantic. there are now 14 active fired in the area, thousands of acres have been burned. south florida is getting some much-needed rain today, these six funnel clouds were spotted off of miami beach, a welcome sight. southland has been struggling with the drought conditions for some time, the clouds and cannot pose much of a threat because they are out at sea.
