>> the california budget battle is now over. the governor signed a $6 billion spending plan into law. here are some of the key provisions. if not for dad, taxes were not extended. we will save money this year. vehicle registration tax goes ninth down. it used to be 1.15% of your vehicle is value, it is now cleanse 65%. they're going to add a $12 fee. the average driver will save $125 a year.

>> the dow is up over 450 points this week. we are waiting for the manufacturing industry to release their reports. which are expected to show growth. automakers will be reporting on june sales. borders has agreed to sell itself to a private investment firm for two with a 15 million. -- $215 million. defense contractor lockheed martin says if they will cut 1500 jobs as the airplane maker's scales back its business. the company says the cuts are due to projected limits on defense spending from congress. the announcement comes two weeks after lockheed martin, 1200 jobs in space systems division. >> a quick look at our 7 day around the bay shows a hot holiday weekend on tap. almost into triple digits by sunday.
