maybe one aside blocking lanes of freeway. not even with that, the chp has said it will not lift the restriction for big rigs on i-580 because they do not expect even with the lanes blocked that there will be a major delay on the nimitz north bound. again, the traffic loads are so like, and the details are little sketchy. if we do not know how many lanes are blocked, but the first report indicates that some lanes will be blocked what the big rig reported on its side on the nimitz freeway north bound through downtown oakland. presently you can see with green showing on the road centers, there is no back up. from here will get a quick bridge to check up, expect a like condition that the bay bridge. that is exactly what we have, for the san mateo bridge is problem free. this almost like the east bound direction in fact in a little lighter than on a normal day. your ride to the golden gate bridge only three lanes are available in the southbound direction. they're holding three on the northbound side in order to

6:19 am
shalala released there, a little more cooling around the bay. we are getting westerly flow, that could provide a little patchy fog around the bay for fireworks. temperatures around the '50s were sent to cisco, 61 for san raphael. fairfield is about 10 degrees warmer than that. in the top is down into the low 60s. by noon, it looked as though we could warm up into the 80's, bring the '90s into the picture as we head towards the free o'clock/4:00 hour. we will have in the 90's and 80's in the seventies around the bay. by tonight most locations will be in the sixties will we could hold to los '70s inland. we have 92 in santa rosa, 96 of petaluma, about 97 for fairfield. in the peninsula, it looks as though we will be about 76 in san for cisco. yesterday in the

80's, not quite as warm but still pretty pleasant. 90s and redwood city, over to the survey looks as though we will stay about 751 into a comfortable 80 degrees and about 86 for castro valley. it will still stay high as we enter the san ramon valley to retire in the mid- 90s. 97 in antioch, and the south bay could move up to 90 is as well. here is a seven day around the base showing us mostly cloudy conditions by wednesday. that is where all changes and we start to see the cooling trend, much cooler by next weekend. >> it is good news is bad news for our accident on the nimitz freeway. >> the only reason i am not calling this a hot spot is because it is not having any impact on traffic, that is the good news even with two lanes blocked north bound there is no problem in terms of the traffic flow heading into downtown oakland on the nimitz freeway. it turns out
6:21 am
that this is not a big grin on its side, but an suv. that is also good news because that means it will be easier to clear up. the bad news is that it is the two right lanes that are blocked on the freeway. as you can see, at 70 impact so far on the southboundor the northbound side of interstate 80. that is like it or not allow them to use the big rigs even though two lanes are blocked on the right inside. he conceived the traffic moving with the green showing all the east bay freeways. caught looking at the bridges around the bay area, the bay bridge has no backup, and of the lake. no metering lights, do not expect them this afternoon or this evening. for your ride to the san mateo bridge, unusually light as you can see no delays in either direction. your golden gate bridge ride should be a pretty picture and indeed it is with no problems north bound, or south bound. expect to see fairly highly travelled in
6:22 am
the northbound direction later this morning. let us go to the news room justine. >> this story might make you hungry because it is time once again for the annual nathan's hot dog eating contest on coney island. prd have been set up and ready to go for the food fest. if he did not know, this is where contestants try to eat as many hot dog as possible. this guard down thousands of calories in the world champion in san jose native is joey chesnutt his record is 68 hot dogs and buns he will be there this year. but his arrival will not be there. he is holding his own unofficial contest somewhere else in york. so, we will be watching to see how many hot dogs and joy chesnutt east. you have any guesses? >> i think he will break it, it was 67 i vicki will go 70. >> up a record he has a 68.

6:33 am
department says there is no indication that the shootings would happen is seem to have been very quiet for a long time with their intelligence, this to them by surprise as well. i got a chance to ask her if she believes are the lead up to perhaps an argument or alcohol played a role in this, but at this time it does not appear so. it is still early on and hopefully they will have some witnesses that ford in this case, or even the survivors will tell them exactly what happened but at this time no arrests have been made. no description of the suspects in all four cases, all of the seven shootings, they do not know. at this time that is why the investigators are still working. while i was talking to her, her phone kept ringing. and then there's the third fatality and that is why she is having a hard time trying to figure out with, costa county the information on that. i will have
6:34 am
information coming up at 7:00 a.m.. back to you. >> thanks a lot. now let us get on to the weather, we have looked like a wonderful forecast for today good morning. >> good morning, we will start off with the fireworks forecast that is what everyone wants to know about today, it is as old as we head towards the 9:30 p.m. our clear skies in most locations. we have a little bit of an onshore flow, we can have some catching coastal fog around the media bay. santa cisco 58 degrees, berkeley about 63. mountain view upper 60s and the same for san rosa as well. here is a look at the afternoon hike, will warm to 92 degrees today. 97 degrees today in fairfield. the in in spots coming down we had trouble digits yesterday. on the peninsula we were in 80's, yesterday, will be an about '70s. through berkeley and now let me it

george. >> quite remarkable any other weekday, this would be a major hot spots even at this hour. and suv was involved in an accident with most likely a big rig in the up on inside blocking the to right-hand lanes. it is, there is no impact on the traffic as weeds soon in,-- as we zoom in, you are looking at 66 and about 65 right after. it will not create any delays. no need for an alternate route. no need to at any time to your drive if you're heading for the airport, when the southbound side you have zero impact for your commute. use the word commute the that is not the case today. we will not see much in the way of a commute. those that are working this morning will have very few cars to assure the road with at the bay bridge toll plaza. no metering lights later in the

day we are likely to see heavier traffic here. and your ride to the san mateo bridge, look at this is a wasteland out there, you could shoot a cannon down the road i did not know why you would want to because you sure would not get anything. your ride through the golden gate bridge, expect to see an extra third lane in the northbound direction. there are only three lanes available on the southbound side, that is more than enough to accommodate the flow coming into san francisco. >> i want to get back to the breaking news story this morning the two alarm fire in the mission district, we want to touch base again with our solo reporter live on the scene. it looks a lot less smoky right now in the last time we checked. >> a lot less a smoky, it looks like the firefighters are getting the upper hand on this fire. originally what i thought was a single structure fire then turns out to the three units. you can see that when they're covered in black, that is one that started the fire. the third unit, you see the
6:38 am
firefighters are still out here taking apparatus into the building. i can see one of the firefighters coming out with what appears to be an animal right now. i also say they're working on another animal right over here. i know that at least one person was transported to a local hospital. you can see the amount of flames that were coming out of these units. now more than 10, or 15 minutes ago. firefighters resenting the upper floors of the unit. at that point--firefighters venting the upper floors of the unit. how this happen a little balls for 6:00 a.m. on the fourth of july. we are told that mostly everyone out one person was transported to a local hospital with what is being called a minor injuries. now as you can see the animal
6:39 am
that came out, it looks as though they're going to give him some oxygen at this point. they want to make sure that everything, and everyone got out of the units. obviously the firefighters are going in to take the animals outside of the burning apartment buildings at this point. they're giving them oxygen, it looks as though he is moving around that is a good sign. this is a developing story as we get more details about the fire will pass that along. it looks like the firefighters and tmz personnel are trying to give the dog got oxygen right now. >> the good part is that they got the animal out safely. we had firefighters with the backboards and laid on the street. as far as you know, only one person injured so hopefully they will not need the backboards? >> and obviously that is more precautionary at this point, firefighters are still inside. as i said before, it looked like it is as a precautionary measure
6:40 am
at this point but obviously they want to be prepared for any type of situation that might arise. >> very good jackie, we have jackie on the scene, will get updates from him as the story continues develop. will take a quick break and be back in just a minute.
