actually have video of the rescue that i will launch for you, as you can see there is the rescue swimmer. they are luring him into the san francisco bay, once the rescue swimmer is in the water, the coast guard then lowers the rescue page that you see here, and once they get the cage down to the water, the rescue swimmer has already gotten cathy, and then he puts her into the cage, and then you can see them raise it back up. as they are approaching, you can see more of the crew members to reach out and grabbed her hand. she elected not to go to the hospital and instead decided to spin her monday at home. >> this is a photograph of kathy she is now resting at home. we talk with her husband today and he described how his wife got stuck out there in the water. >> i feel very very relieved.

>> this was a a really big ordeal. >> dr. stephen hammond was worried when his wife as you can see here was windsurfing and did not come back in monday he said that her sail separated from her board and left her stranded. >> her husband says that she was in the water for 12 hours and was able to see some rescue boats. >> the boats came within 50 ft. of her and they cannot see her, one time she lifted up the board and she yield, but it was hard because the sea was so choppy. she thought maybe she could swim in, but her only chance was probably about 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. when it was flooding that she might have been able to get close to shore. i think her energy was little at that point. >> in addition to having clung to her board overnight

was shot last night he was talking to someone on the street another car pulled up a man that out and opened fire please to not have a motive in that shooting. a quick thinking postal carrier is being credited for stopping a trail of thieves, they were breaking into this neighborhood in belmont on yorkshire way. >> month a belmont post office man came across three men standing right there in front of that home. not alerting the three men that he was checking them out the postal carrier notice that the gate on the side of the house was open it was at that point he began to suspect that a burglary was taking place. he pulled out his cellphone and down 911. it turns out, he was right the house was being

in the city of palo alto of the city council is considering banning the practice of sleeping in your car. people have been complaining about homeless people sleeping in their cars. >> there have been a number of complaints were individuals park in front of others house and there is sanitation, dedication, urination, trashed and safety concerns and that is what the ordinance is trying to address. memo we talked to one man that was napping in his car at college avenue he says it is nowhere else to go he says if the ordinance which is only chase him into another neighborhood. >> it is misguided i think people to the homeless and think i do not want to be one of them and it would like to not see us. my point is that it is great that these people can afford these homes, but the recession, or whatever it is that we are in is not over yet. it is not finished wrong people out of work and

in front of the home has been designated a crime scene. today, petaluma residence were talking about what happened calling it unnerving. >> shocking and horrible and unbelievable. >> a town of this size, any amount of crime i think it's shocking. >> teresa estacio has been covering this story for us today and she joins us live with more details. >> we are standing in front of the home here on the 800 block of liberty road where the crime unfolded. now authorities came to this home when residents said they heard gunshots fired. what authority showed up at the 800 block of liberty they found two people dead. marin county sheriff's deputy jim mathewson and thomas holloran. they say that matheson came over to counsel the family because a

young female resident was receiving death threats from her ex-boyfriend identified as thomas holloran. while he was at the home hollering showed up at the gate shot matheson twice they say that thomas holloran took another resident hostage in the back but a family member shot and killed him. this is a picture of one of the bodies being taken from the home. matheson is being mourned by his colleagues at the marin county sheriff's department and we also learned that thomas holloran is eight parolee. them what we are also learning that thomas holloran had to restraining order against him by an ex- girlfriend and his ex-wife. >> a windsurfer has been rescued from the san francisco bay after being stranded overnight. you are looking at video of 62 year- old kathy being lifted out

future government spending are continuing behind closed doors. today the president talked about the progress being made on that compromise, a bipartisan group of senators have put together a deficit reduction plan that includes tax hikes, and spending reforms. it will cut the nation's debt by almost four trillion dollars over the next decade or so. the president says that a lot of work still needs to be done. >> i think what you will see is an evaluation of that plan, i can't you will see some significant overlap but obviously just because we might agree in principle with a range of issues, with six senators, or seven senators that does not get us out of the house of representatives, that does not get us out of the senate. there has to be a it agreement by all the
