>> we will focus on richmond, oakland and san jose a the big board. so far this year, there have been 28 homicides compared to 20 all of last year. we are barely into august. richmond has exceeded last year's total as gains fuelled turf wars trigger violent attacks and there. an oakland had 64 homicides so far in 2011 and in all 2010, they had 94 so we're well ahead of pace, but the bottom line the police department these the community to help fight violent crime and hopefully national night out will help those relationships. >> new details of about phillip and nancy garrido believes there will go to to exploit children. the district attorney who successfully convicted the 24 kidnap and sexual assault of jaycee dugard has now released new videos and documents. we have team coverage, we begin with dan

out of custody he should be taken back into custody but they fail to do that. >> to take a look at what went wrong and a parole hearing, that kind of aspect as and how we review inmates before they're released on parole. if the parole agents were trained that they have to check the perimeter not just the interior of a home, i think that would be helpful. as to why they were allowed to have a deal camera running and taunting that agent, these are areas again that would be, that could be discussed in our community discussion. >> keep in mind the state legislature is not in session right now that is one of the reasons why the wheels are turning so fast in this, and the hopes that is legislation has to be written, it can be written up for the next session. >> our coverage continues now, mark klass founder of the klass kids foundation
