5:02 pm
police department could order it off and they did. they told us that we could turn it off. our heart aches when we are forced to make that decision by people who do harm. in this case if it were not for the protesters we would have turned this off. >> the next question how were they hacked into? >> the fbi is investigating as well as some other deputies who specialize in cyber terrorism. i am not familiarized with the difficulty of security, but i can tell you that we took every step that i believe we could take in order to secure this side. >> what is bart doing about contacting bart riders who information as compromise? >> about 55,000 customers had their information compromise. we are methodically going through every single piece of information that was hacked,

5:35 pm
leaving. >> jeff, if you can still hear me we are looking at 80 to 90 marchers' right now? >> it was a little different down here on the platform. the people who were involved in the protests were kind gathered around as a part of the crowd. they did not a symbol to closely together. it seemed very loosely organized if organized at all. right now the station is being cleared out and officers are asking the press and all of us to go. >> we should update our audience, you're looking at live pictures along market street in san francisco a group of 80 to 90 protesters have gathered to protest against a number of issues against a bart. they have closed the civic center station that will affect the number of commuters that get on at that location. those people will need to go to other bart stations in order to board the trains that are passing through that area.

scene the are, what do you see going on? >> it is hard to tell the ground but i want to step out of the way i apologize for the buses. we cannot control them and they started marching in the civic center area. it looked as though there were two different groups, and how you can see the different police and the distance. you can see the groups beyond those police officers and many people in the groups have on ask. this is what we saw from the group of anonymous. those are a lot of the people that you would think be involved in the group. this is just one of the groups because there with another group that march down market street when they cannot get into the civic center. at this point it is hard to say for me if the group have met up with the other group because when i last check the other group was marching and then you have this group rallying am here with different signs and chanting different things. but within a matter of 15 to 20 minutes we saw
5:49 pm
the police presence outside go from just a couple of officers here and there to dozens of officers on the street. i talked with some of the officers earlier on. they said we do not want this to get out of hand it will do we have to to make sure that it does not get out of hand. keep a couple of things in mind when looking at these people across the street in those that are protesting, they were upset specifically about two things, they were upset over police brutality and also upset that cellphone service was turned off at four different bart stations last week. that is the story that made national news and headlines not only in this country but all over the world. you can see some of the different offices clearing out the civic center bart station. a station at this point is still closed down. that is pretty much the latest from outside of the civic center bart station here in san francisco. >> before you go, and what is the crowd doing now it is
5:50 pm
hard to say what is the one on here because at one point, the group that you see directly behind me were on the platform at the civic center holding up their signs and chanting. the police officer told me earlier in the day if they went down to the platform they were not taking any chances because that is a dangerous situation someone could fall onto the tracks, anything could happen. now they went on to the train was some of the signs, some of people got upset and they started shoving them back. and in the police in riot gear kept out. --that is when police and riot gear came out. the this is some video from downstairs at the civic center, you can see someone mass chaos on the platform we have people shouting and people holding up their signs about people
5:51 pm
who were just really upset with what was going on really, that is the latest and again i'm still not sure and i will have to check within the next 10 minutes or so to see if this group was a part of two groups, word this was the only group as of right now. >> j.r. stone we will allow you to gather other information we will take a quick break and come back with more on this developing story. again, the civic center bart station is closed. there are protesters in the area we will be back with more.

5:55 pm
bart. we are looking into the logistics' in all this, grant. >> i want to use this board to give you the logistics of the problem. now there are at least to bart stations that are affected, we will get to this in a minute, but as we zoom into the civic center this is where it all started this is where the protesters said they would be right here in the civic center station remember earlier this summer, really upset about the police officer, the bart police officer involved in the shooting, it has gotten worse as the summer has progressed with this cellphone stuff. we have these three parts stations, here is a civic center, and this is the powell street. both are now closed. civic center has been closed for about 40 minutes, the powell street is closed just one minute. and we hear from the crew that it may be heading down here to be 16th and

6:04 pm
platform, they went on to the train at one point. someone on the train pushed them off and said it would have to get going. the police officers felt like there were too many people on the platform, too many people with intentions. they did not want anyone to get hurt, we talked with one of the protesters and this is what he had to say. >> why am i here? anything to do with this communistic police state that we are in, i'm against it. i fought 20 years in the military for this type of bull? no i did not. >> and quebec have alive, you can see some of the officers in the distance. bart police officers on the normal they have between 24 and 37 officers. there are an additional 75 bart officers that are out here and with the last 45 minutes or so, we have seen additional police officers from the san francisco police department helping out with this as well. but as of right now, there have
