>> it was a very emotional scene as the small white coffin bearing the body of three year-old carlos was carried through a crowd of family members and friends attended his funeral at st. bernard's church in oakland. pallbearers' wore t-shirts bearing his image, this was a connection with the three year-old being killed in a drive-by shooting the pain was visible on their faces. close to 200 people came to celebrate the toddler's life, he even those that did not know the family came to show their support. >> there is nothing anyone can do to make this family feel better. nothing, they had a loss and... >> it is sad. i mean if it could been anybody but not a baby. that could've been anyone's baby. that is why in here. >> also here to pay their

respects were representatives from the city of oakland including oakland firefighters, those from the housing authority and city council member as well as the oakland councilwoman barbara lee. the mayor was not in attendance was still on vacation and the oakland police chief anthony batts. the spokesperson told the funeral was a private event and he did not want to invade on the families time to mourn. >> as he said oakland city council member delafuenta was among those in the crowd and he said it is time for those who are fed up with violent crime to come forward. he also had strong words for the mayor to support anticrime measures. >> q know a few months ago, we had a debate and we had all of these hundreds of people that came out to support, but very few people

trend is in store as we head into the weekend. now take a look at the fog for tomorrow morning. up into the north bay and down into these bayshores. this will be the extent of it, and the engine into the inland valleys, not making a move to the south bay either. later in the morning, this is the 10:00 hour, then back to the coastline in the late afternoon hours could see a few breaks along the san mateo coastline in up to the north bay. for the most part we will see that fog close to the coastline tomorrow. mostly in the '80s out there tomorrow, 90 in morgan hill. 82 san jose, 87 los gatos, 79 sunnyvale. quite warm for the inland valleys, upper 80s and low 90s. 90 walnut creek, same implicit--7 in pleasanton and antioch. 69

>> the gasoline prices are not easing up as the end of summer nears. according to aaa the average price of unleaded gasoline in san francisco $3.83 per gallon. that is not as high as the record average price of $4.62 back in the summer of 2008. but it is considerably higher than the price just last year at $3.57 per gallon. oil prices have dropped recently, gasoline prices have not, katherine tells us why it may take a while to feel a little relief of the problem.

>> gas prices and not selected leaving some drivers wondering where is my relief? the average price of a rigger gallon of gas nationwide started at $3.59 per gallon according to aaa that is about 75 lower than last week. but still 845 higher than this time last year. aaa says that retailers caused a latin prices and that is why the prices are going up or down. >> when the price increase rapidly retailers will absorbers' some of those costs to remain competitive. and they declined rapidly, they will take their time in reducing the cost to make up for some of the loss. >> in addition to the decline in oil prices, driving season on labor day should temper the prices as well. >> kids are back in school people are back at work, you are no longer taking summer vacation and gasoline demand is reduced that is usually when we see the price of

san jose police, the department's chief said that there will be some instances where police officers do not respond. the changes follow a list of reductions the department has recently been through between march and july of this year, they stop using their helicopter and more than 60 officers were cut from the force. the school liaison unit was eliminated and the staff for the school crossing guard program was reduced. now rob fladeboe explains the the police will not always come when you call them. >> new marching orders for san jose police means that officers like this one will not be dispatched to what are considered low priority calls. for example, officers will not be sent to routine traffic accidents were no one was injured. >> if the driver says it was not my fault, it was some type of dispute, they will dispatch officers to prevent any physical altercation. >> other policies likely to change until another routine
