the state increase funding for minority student programs. now some teachers are gathering in oakland at this hour over a proposal to close five elementary schools next year. it is a plan that is not sitting well with a lot of people. dan kerman is live in oakland with the very latest. >> and very vocal group of young students are here with us today from a variety of schools on the hit list. oakland says because of declining enrollment it just has too many schools and they have to make the best use of resources and that means closing schools and filling them up. let me show you which ones are on the hit list. the school district is talking about closing santa fe elementary, let a few elementary, lazear elementary, maxwell park elementary and marshall at a military--marshall elementary. they looked at the number of schools as well as performance and that is how they got to this

this is a picture of 66 year-old judith, she was a patient at the summit medical center she died this past weekend to attend medical error. kron4 is learning more about the details behind death as teresa estacio reports the nurse involved was a young woman from out of state. >> we have learned that judith ming was erroneously given a nutrition supplement called lucerne and to the wrong catheter instead of going into a feeding tube, sources tell us that it was placed into her bloodstream and soon afterward she died. we have also learned that the alameda towner--alameda county coroner's office has released some preliminary findings. sources tell us that the nurse was in her 20s and she was at the medical center as a replacement employees by this company. will on the

company's web site writes about having qualified nurses and on its face look page, you can see here it talks about working the strike will be fun. the company declined to give a statement about the nurse or the death at the hospital but in the meantime kron4 had learned that the supplement was given to her and hospital to increase our calorie intake as she struggled to fight ovarian cancer and that it is a common practice to give liquid supplements however a source tells kron4 news that it is shocking that the supplement was put into the wrong tube. because the procedure is a common one and two of the tubes are distinguished lead different. as far as the autopsy they're being reviewed by the police investigators. >> tonight in oakland there'll be a public vigil held to remember the emerging--murder nursing student michelle le. is going to be held a 6:00 p.m.. today marks for months
