>> with crime rates soaring in oakland these days like from this fatal shooting just one week ago, officials tell kron4 news that more cops on the street cannot come soon enough. authorities say the first step in utilizing funds from the federal grant will be to offer jobs to 12 officers laid off to help balance oakland budget next the will to hire 10 officers who went through the academy but were not offered jobs because there was no money to bring them to the force. then last, to round off the 25 officers lated, officials say that they will look to find three officers laid off from other cities because of economic problems. police said the sides allocating officers to neighborhoods, near the schools, the chief will meet with the advisers on where else to position the new cops. they say they hope to have some new officers on patrol in about one month however some officers may have to go through the certification and that might delay the matters.

happened in oakland about 3:00 p.m. today. police say a perimeter had been set up around the schools as they search for a man that was wanted in a san leandro murder case. >> today officers on patrol in the 9500 block. they observed an individual who is wanted out of san leandro when a homicide. the warrant is active in the system, officers attempted to contact this individual the individual started to run and he ran through the bishops campus at that time the oakland police department notified the school which the school placed a lockdown which was a very swift and efficient action from the school. >> no one was hurt during the lockdown the students were allowed to leave around 4:00, just over one hour ago. tragedy on the streets of east palo alto this

>> of daly city police responded to a 911 call from the shopping center this morning they discovered a man that was dead in the parking lot, police found the older adult victim lying along a white car. officials said it also saw a firearm at the man's feet. the shopping center remain open while the investigation was going on. a motorcycle club member shot to death in an east bay city. that is what happened. it was at the east bay dragon's clubhouse on international boulevard last night when the shooting occurred. >> out bloodstains remain where a man was gunned down right here in this rise bologna to the oakland east bay dragons motorcycle club that is what happened tuesday night to one of the bike club members, 40 year- old hassan, according to

charged for murdering michelle le. she did not attend today's hearing, a doctor said that as the bond was pregnant with not well enough to be moved from jail to the hayward courthouse. the remains of lee were found earlier this month as the bond is expected the accord next month to enter a plea currently she is being held without bail. also new details as lawmakers investigate the bart officers that shot and killed a homeless man back in july. bart says that the officers did not receive crisis intervention training. police said that charles hill had drawn and i said the officers and a civic center bart platform in san francisco. this is surveillance of the attack, investigators said that officers responding to complaints of him being drunk and erratic. >> new at 5:00 p.m. to alleged rapes on the same bay area college campus in two weeks. we talked to investigators and school officials about campus safety and the rally that the students held today.

>> police are investigating after two students the same mary's college claim to have been raped in the past two weeks. today students rallied in called for an end to sexual violence police said that both attacks happened in dorm rooms and both victims knew their alleged attackers both are also students at st. mary's, so far no charges have been filed in either case a student and helped organize today's rally said it is important to raise awareness to help prevent future victims. >> it is something that is very common in all colleges. i feel that a lot of colleges and not addresses sometimes. it is something that happens especially to people, freshmen coming in because they now have the experience because they have never been on their own usually. and it is something that is definitely something people need to make a little bit of a fuss about. >> we spoke with school
