announcer mac this is a kron 4 news at 6:00 a.m.. darya thank you for waking up with the kron 4 morning news. the weather is changing again. >>james: morning clouds, fog and drizzle. he will leave your wipers as you make your way around the bay this morning. this afternoon, partly sunny-sunday. dry and warm beginning tomorrow. that is just a quick look at what we are expecting weather wise. most of the moisture has pushed to the east. it will be damp and cloudy. fog tracker 4 is showing as clouds and fog set for 7:00 a.m.. it will take until about 1:00 p.m. to do so. at 7:00 a.m., the

fog will push out and we will wake up tomorrow morning to more than likely clear skies. we expect warm temperatures to kick in tomorrow. today, this is what we're dealing with. low-mid-60s. 62 in san francisco, 63 in oakland, this afternoon we will see things warm up like this. in the south bay, san jose, low 70's, upper 70's for los gatos and morgan hill. 71 in oakland. in the delta, the san ramon valley, low-mid- 70s with partly cloudy skies. santa rosa, 77. across the north bay, mostly in the mid-70s with 75 for navato and snap up. 72 in san rafael. upper 60's is

what we can expect for downtown san francisco today. conditions will warm up as we head towards >>george: on the bay bridge, there are no backups or delays as you approached the toll plaza. from macarthur to the maze, a nine minute drive time. the san mateo bridge looks good. volume building a little bit, but an easy ride eastbound and westbound. the wet deck is your only concern. the golden gate bridge is a little foggy. no problems across the span the southbound. an easy ride from marin. your ease they

. jackie sissel is live on the scene. >>jackie: one person just put up a sign that said it this is oscar grant plaza. they are also protesting corporate greed. yesterday, hundreds of protesters, in solidarity with occupy wall street that started about a month ago. and occupies san francisco started about two weeks ago. here in frank ogawa plaza in front oakland city hall, dozens of protesters are protesting everything from corporate greed to wall street greed, you saw the sign that said oscar grant. a number of causes. there is no one is centralized caused to unite them other than rage

better education, affordable housing and more jobs. police decided about two dozen people for staging a sit-in in the street. >>mark: we are waiting for the opening bell. right now, dow features are down 79 points. european leaders have promised a solution for the debt crisis by the end of the month. today, investors are watching and waiting on slovakia, the only country left to approve the european a bailout. >>mark: the president's jobs bill appears to be dead in the u.s. senate. president obama has been campaigning for his four to $47 billion measure which is expected to come to a test vote in the

senate today. the bill combines payroll tax cuts for workers and businesses with spending on infrastructure and help for local governments to avoid layoffs for teachers, firefighters and police officers. republicans say the proposal is another expensive failure in stimulus spending. >>justine: we are learning about a celebration of the life of steve jobs. it is held for apple employees. the ceo tim cook put out a memo to employees, the event will be held at an outdoor amphitheater at the apple headquarters in cupertino on wednesday, october 19th. part of that memo, cook explains that many of you have explained a sad days and a shed many tears over the past week. i found comfort in both telling and listening to stories about steve. that gives us a little idea about what might be happening on wednesday. steve jobs died last wednesday at the age of 56. coming up on the kron 4

mateo bridge ride is a wet one. there are no problems on this van eastbound or westbound. the golden gate bridge has been foggy and drizzly as well. accident and incident free for the southbound 101 ride. we will update the marin commute in a moment. the south they commute, as we predicted, no traffic get on the 101 northbound. the north a ride still looks good out of marin county for 101 southbound. we are delay free from navato to the golden gate bridge. darya parents met with officials

about the closing of lake view elementary school. lake view is one of five schools on the chopping block. parents are not happy. >> it is plain and simple. it is a lie! new speaker many parents, including myself, if the school closes, i am pulling him out of oakland unified school district and putting him some more calls. >>darya: parents argue that lady is one of the city's schools. the deputy superintendent says there are too many schools open for a district of their size and the funding is not there. new speaker we have about 100 schools. with 38,000 kids and trying to find all of those schools, the resources are spread very thin. >>darya: the deputy superintendent says the five schools are slated for closure including lady. they have low enrollment and all of the closures would save

set up camp at the frank ogawa plaza in downtown oakland after the demonstration that they had yesterday afternoon. this was a part of a nationwide movement that started with occupy wall street. jackie sissel is live with a peek at the camp. are they going to have a formal demonstration? new speaker they are careful not to call this a demonstration or protest. not many of them wanted to go on camera for various reasons. the person

i spoke with said they are looking for change. he was not specific. they're looking for on going occupies situations. it started at wall street and moved to san francisco and other cities around the country. this started yesterday in oakland. you can see that hundreds of protesters showed up in front of city hall in frank ogawa plaza. they say that they will stay here for the foreseeable future.

scuffle is going on. it sounds like a little bit of commotion, we will check back with jackie in a little bit. in boston, police arrested about 50 protesters from the occupied boston movement because they did not move when they were told to. on the bottom right is downtown chicago. they had a number of arrests there. about two dozen people were cited for saving a sit-in. >>mark: everyone is talking about basketball as the first two weeks of the nba season is officially canceled. the commissioner has wiped out a total of 100 games following several hours of negotiations that failed to produce new labor talks. the two sides say that they will remain in contact but no formal talks

birth after. her doctor gave her approval to run the 26 mi. while 39 weeks pregnant, many people are outraged by her decision to participate. i posted a league to the story in its entirety. you can sound off on our facebook fan page. >>darya: there is a new record for the biggest pumpkin and california. the winner was 1,704 lbs.. that is the heaviest pumpkin ever in california. the owner will receive $6 a pound. that is more than $10,000. he gets $6 a pound and an additional $1,000 for breaking the state record. if you want to check out that pumpkin, it will be on display with other heavy pumpkins that were runners- up in the half moon bay art and pumpkin festival.
