>>justine: a final decision on the school closure is not expected until later this month. >>james: students in one school are missing books. stanley roberts has more on this edition of people being badly. >>stanley: since august 50, some students at the academy of arts and science high school and san francisco have been missing something important. not due to lack of funds, but someone at the school and the supplier dropping the ball. >> we have no books whatsoever for our geometry class. >>stanley: this is wendy lee, a junior at this high school. apparently, two weeks into the school year, administrators put in an order for 65 geometry and precalculus books. for the last eight weeks, according to the principal, who refused to go on camera, they just found out that only one book has arrived.

>> there is something going on somewhere. >>stanley: to be fair, there are classroom only books in the room. 65 students have to share them. since only 32 workbooks arrived, they do not actually use them. the teacher says, this is not the first time he has had to teach without the required books. one year, he went a have school year with no books. the principal places the blame on the books supplier out of illinois, but when the places the blame on the administrators. >> they should be ordering the books before school starts. but we should have books on the first day of school, on hand and ready for the kids to take home. >>stanley: what a novel idea. i was there when the precalculus books arrived, but there were still not geometry books. those california standard test scores are coming up in april. students say they need all the resources available to compete. i will be following this problem
