police say they do not know what led to the shooting or who shot the victim. >>officer: we do not know if it was within members of the same club or an outside rival gang. >>da: it helps to and during the funeral of jeff pedigrew. san jose police have not said where in the cemetery the shooting occurred. investigators spent much of their time near the grave site of pedigrew. >> you do not do anything at a memorial park or fuel. >>da: more than is 1000 people attended the funeral. although many people witnessed the shooting, they are not getting a lot of cooperation. >>officer: the scene appears to have been tampered with. i cannot get into details, but they believed it has been tampered with. >>da: as it was steve thompson, the sergeant at arms at the santa cruz chapter of the club and a close friend of pedigrew. he

was a bill bondsman at this downtown san jose office. friends left flowers by the front door. he was nicknamed mr. and 187 which is the state penal code for murder. he was suspected of killing a piker years ago but acquitted of the crime. he was an ex-marine. family and friends say he is survived by four children. in san jose, da lin, kron4 news. >>marty: if the governor is declaring today steve jobs data. apple is organizing a memorial service and big names are expected to attend. this is to honor the late apple ceo. a small private funeral was held for jobs last week. he died earlier this month at the age of 56 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. >>marty: thought there were two people shot and killed

in the east bay. the shooting happened near interstate 580 at the park avenue exit. the victims were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead. police are still searching for suspects. the shooting was down the road from a safety summit where nearly 1000 people met to discuss ways to lower oaklands crime rate. more on that coming up. >>marty: police in san francisco are looking for a suspect they say shot at a chp officer during a car chase. the chase ended when the suspect's car crashed near the transamerica building. the suspect fled on foot and is on the run. >>marty: there were two officers that suffered ankle injuries obligate the chase. officers spotted a man with a handgun in the potrero neighborhood. they caught the suspect after falling him down a rocky hill. they also recover the dead. >>marty: thousands of protesters took to the streets off to participate in the occupy movement around the bay area. in

it from the farm to a distribution center, as with other distribution center and then to the supermarkets. there are probably four-five people involved. >>henry: ideally, you grow as much of your own food as you can. you have done a remarkable job. you have a quarter of an acre. how is it going? >> it was surprisingly easy. for the last three months, we have produce all of our own food. >>henry: really? >> yes. enough for yourselves? what do you do with the access? >> we grow just enough. we have a lot going on and we do tell the neighbors. it is more of a broad. we do have animals, sometimes it gets a little loud. we give gulf produce to them.

>>henry: do you have any idea how much you have saved? >> we have produced about $9,000 worth of food. iwhen he takes out what we have said, we have a net savings of about $4,000. we have saved another $4,000 by not going to digress restore. >>henry: for how much work is it? how much effort? how many hours do you fit into it? >> before the growing season, in the early spring and late winter, there is a lot of work to get this will prepare. two-three days to get it going and said, the critters are on a regular schedule. they are pretty easy. in a couple of weekends to get everything in the grounds. >> it probably averages an

creator of a film called after party. you are out there shooting in this demonstration and it was a legal demonstration but police arrested everyone. >> i was with a two-person camera crew. the other cinematographer was on the other side of the street. we had two different views of what happened. later, everyone was arrested. they surrounded as all with an orange neck. the intern that was with me is that 48 hours in jail. >>henry: obviously you were unhappy, he filed a lawsuit. >> i took the videotape and give it to the new york civil liberties union. they give it to the district attorney. they dropped criminal cases against everyone arrested along with

me. the new york civil liberties union filed a lawsuit on my behalf against the city of new york. >>henry: all of a sudden, a little more time of the expected. >> this city, in its own defense, when you see our 600 pages of secret intelligence documents, you'll understand what we had to arrest everyone. that was shocking because it basically revealed that they had undercover operatives infiltrating legal protest groups in 50 cities across the country. they also sent international operatives doing wiretaps, and e-mail surveillance. >>henry: this was the new york city police department? >> yes. it was run by david cohen, the director of their intelligence program. he was a former cia operative, he created a cia in the middle of the new york city police department. it they are looking at the legal activity and terrorism and these kinds of crimes, that

is one thing. this was different, they were sending people to look at legal protest groups, in some cases arts groups in the theater groups. >>henry: i am sure that this has ended by now. >> absolutely not. it was just revealed that this same year it was doing surveillance on muslim americans simply because there were muslim americans. this came out in the press over the past few weeks. >>henry: the no how widespread this is? >> this is a new era of policing.-new york city police department has gone beyond what any other municipal police department has done. i think we are looking at the tip of the iceberg. in the post 9/11 decade, they have a certain license to proceed this way because people perceive it

oakland. >> organizing at the grass- roots level. block by block, school by school, a kid i did. working throughout the neighborhood. >>nichole: the mayor is working with since this county attorney >> we cannot arrest our way out of crime. we need to look at other ways to try to reduce crime. putting officers in strategic locations where we think the most violent crimes are taking place and gives us the opportunity. >>nichole: the plan also involves other agencies including city workers. >> we should not be naive to think you have a 4-5 police walking around to create a police state. you can have a holistic approach with other city resources in the area focusing their efforts. >>nichole: senior staff has

been reassigned to work directly with the oakland police department. >> we will take those cases and get them into the criminal-justice system quickly, will that do this is a rapidly. >> hundreds visited dozens of lives and workshops. in oakland, nichole shanafelt, kron4 news. >> >>marty: oakland residents told us what they thought about the new plan. we are having problem with video, your days. >> if it is going to work, we need parents into the community involved, not just people in a higher authority, where did it their job. we want people who really want change. >> i am hoping that the people of oakland come down

pedestrians. charges range from disorderly contest to resisting arrest. in raleigh carolina, people were taken into custody and charged with trespassing. in arkansas, several hundred protesters gathered to support the occupy wall street movement. protesters are marching in little rock and headed towards the state capitol building. so far, no arrests have been made. >>marty: the california mother of american servicemen who made headlines when she protested against president bush has joined the occupy protests. cindy she and join the occupy sacramento
